Seems to me Ukraine has learned a lot more about modern warfare using drones, large and small, in a real world situation than The UN could teach them anyway...unless it was for those pretty blue helmets to show how to draw sniper fire :pondering:

Agreed. Besides, as you said, what is the UN going to "teach" them? Given the proper equipment they seem to be doing a good job. jmho

2-3 Km (1.24-1.86 miles) advance and then stopped. It's an advance, obviously, but it's tiny and will probably cost Russia thousands of men and scores or hundreds of vehicles.

Over time - a year and more - Ukraine has sunk enough ships near and in Sevastopol that the Black Sea has reduced its presence there to a bare minimum, and the Russian base at Novorossiysk is under frequent attack. Air defenses and air bases in Crimea are frequently and destructively attacked. The Krasnodar Krai (which includes Novorossiysk) is under frequent attack. Attacks on oil refineries and storage facilities have impacted Russia's oil industry - fuel for civilians and invaders of Ukraine, and for export.

Basically, Putin threw this year's crop of conscripts into a mass attack on the Kharkiv axis...they overrun the Ukrainian lines for a mile or two and then bogged down again after they started getting slaughtered by drones and arty.  Same old pattern from the Bakhmut warfighting model.

Russian oil refinery hit as Kharkiv region is under shelling

Drone strikes forced a small independent refinery in southern Russia to halt operations on Sunday while Moscow’s troops kept up “intense” fighting in northeast Ukraine after recent advances, as well as along the eastern front.

Kremlin forces are currently pressing the most near Vovchansk, Starytsya, Lyptsi in the Kharkiv border region, as well as on Siversk, Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk axes in the east, Ukraine’s general staff said.

However, Ukraine’s troops managed to bolster their positions in the Kharkiv region over the past few days, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Telegram later on Sunday following talks with commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, who’s currently at the front line.

Separately, Kyiv forces are “efficiently liquidating” Russia’s soldiers near the strategically important town of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region, where Moscow’s troops have been pressing, Zelenskyy said.
