Damn dude, what an awful week for you!
Glad to hear you're home and on the mend. So I take it the hernia caused a rupture that got things quickly infected and it went sideways from there. Was this just an out of the blue event or is this an ongoing issue (if I may ask)?
I have had a Spigelian hernia in my belly button for decades.. Fixing it is elective unless it begins to strangle the intestine, which is basically what started the whole thing. When I could no longer push things around, that is indicative of real damage, and my doc always said if I get to where I cannot manipulate the gut under the belly button, then I better surely get to a surgeon... So that is what started it...
But evidently, it was swelling in the stomach wall due to infection - the colon was never at risk... But the infection came from somewhere, right? Evidently that was bladder/ prostate stuff, which is identified but still not resolved. Whether it is just infection, or something more has to wait until everything calms down.
And as a tertiary, and most serious problem, the infection had spread enough to cause coronary trouble, along with the surgery on the hernia - The anesthesia caused an afib condition, and they finally gave me a jump start to get things going right again.
But, the heart, while involved, is clear of blockage, and operating alright. And the likely scenario is that everything will go back to natural as I get away from the anesthetic and take the weight (of fluid) off the system - I lost more than 30 lbs to water drained off...
All pretty crazy Had no idea. Was pissin fine, but underlying was a hyperextended bladder and everythig floating in way too much water.
