Seven MORE Memphis cops are now under investigation in connection with the death of Tyre Nichols - bringing the total number to 13

    An additional seven Memphis cops are now officially under investigation in connection with the death of Tyre Nichols
    The widening of the investigation brings the total number of officers under investigation to 13
    The names of the latest set of officers to be investigated have not been released

Seven more Memphis cops are now under investigation in connection with the death of Tyre Nichols last month - bringing the total number up to 13.

City of Memphis Chief Legal Officer Jennifer Sink told a heated city council meeting that a statement of charges related to those under investigation could come as soon as this week.

The widening of the investigation comes as the national outrage over Nichols' death led five officers who were filmed beating the 29-year-old to be charged with his murder.

In total six officers have been fired in connection with the fateful traffic stop. The names of the latest set of officers to be investigated have not been released.

    Officer Demetrius Haley took pictures of Tyre Nichols after beating him
    Haley sent those pictures from his phone to six people, including civilians
    Newly released documents detail the misconduct off officers in the incident

One of the five Memphis police officers charged with brutally beating a black man to death took photos of his bloodied body and sent it to at least six people.

Newly released documents revealed the lengths of misconduct the Memphis police officers displayed after they stopped Tyre Nichols for allegedly driving recklessly - a claim for which no proof has been provided - before mercilessly pepper spraying him, tasing him, and then beating him to death when he tried to escape their assaults.

The files show that Officer Demetrius Haley - who first forced Nichols out of his car - shined a flashlight in his victims face after he had been handcuffed and propped limply against a squad car, then took a photo with his personal cellphone.

I have read that Nichols was involved with the ex-wife of the officer that took the pictures, and the officer sent the pics to his ex-wife.
