The huge influx of foreign born folks into the USA, in excess of 40% of our population and will soon exceed 50%, our culture and values have eroded to a virtual nonexistent status.  Plus the cost of living encourages people to not have families.  They see it as crippling to have families.

My three kids and my step daughter, they all do not want children.  A large part of that is the cost associated with maintaining a normal family life.  As I have stated repeatedly, we are becoming more and more like Russia culturally.  Over there, they get married at 18, have one child, and get divorced a year or two later.  Family values that existed in the USA when we were young just do not exist today.

The American work ethic is also going away and being supplanted by a Soviet style dependence society where productivity is not part of daily life.  How many people were working prior to the pandemic who are still sitting at home, not working, and collecting money from the government?  Too damn many.

America will remain in decline as long as the people here are not productive.  How often do we hear, Americans no longer want to work?  Too often.  This problem will continue to worsen with Democommies at the helm.  And with fixed elections, the Republicans will remain the minority party perhaps for eternity.

The ironic part being, most of the people who make that statement—are retired.

@jmyrlefuller

I see no irony whatsoever. Most of the retired people I know are retired because they "aged out" or got sick or hurt to the point where they were forced into retirement.

Even then,ever one of them I know are working part-time,if only in their home garage doing stuff like making furniture  or toys.

I was forced into retirement due to Agent Orange making a surprise return visit.

So I put up a 45x60 workshop and started rebuilding antique cars,trucks,and Harley's. If I could only work one day a week,I worked that one day,and was damned grateful to have work to to.

I am now unable to do much of anything other than walk out to the shop to feed the shop cats,but the instant I am able to breathe and walk again,I will be out there everyday,doing something.

And I am not doing it for the money. Chances are I will never live long enough to turn enough profits to pay for the shop and the tools,never mind the cars,trucks,and the parts.

Doesn't matter. It gives me an excuse to get out of bed in the mornings,and that is worth more than any amount of money you can mention.

And I can't think of one single retired person in this area that isn't doing whatever it is they can do to keep busy,if they are able to do anything at all.

Also,it seems like the ones that have to stop working all-together don't seem to live very long.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!
