I know its all subjective, but from my POV, maybe the sexiest woman who ever lived.

Every guy who is my age and had their teen years in the '60's and '70's knows why.

I'll second that.

Being a fan of Isaac Asimov, I liked her in “Fantastic Voyage”

Being a fan of Raquel Welch, I was content to sit and just watch her breathe, take out the trash, clean the tile grout, or just about anything else.

She was magnetic, Greek goddess sexy.

She was a very pretty lady. But I can't say she was a great actress. My fav flick of hers...Bandelero. She said she loved this film because it allowed her get away from "sex symbol" and show her acting chops. Okey Dokey.

RIP Raquel.

@sneakypete

The point is that fentanyl is not a point of a drug, but a poison.  Biden's polices ARE the point of failure that allow this to happen.

So Pete if you accidently died after eating a  cannabis gummy laced with fentanyl (Not that you would), would you be a victim of drug abuse?

Just asking.....

@catfish1957

No. I would be a murder victim.

Raquel was the essence of feminine beauty.  She was perfect in every way.

Article said she died of a brief illness.  Just wondering, like the brief illness that comes with a COVID jab?  Just wondering.

1941-2023
Tim McCarver, former standout Cardinals catcher and famed baseball broadcaster, dies at 81
    Dan Caesar 1 hr ago
St. Louis Post Dispatch

He had a stellar baseball career, a bulldog of a catcher who won two World Series with the Cardinals in the 1960s and played in three. He had an even more decorated run after his playing days ended, an unparalleled marathon as a network television analyst on the sport’s biggest stage before finishing with a stint in the Cards' TV booth.

Tim McCarver, the man from Memphis whose touch of a Southern accent was a lifelong trademark, died there Thursday morning of heart failure. He was 81 and his passing was announced by the Baseball Hall of Fame, in which he was a member as a  broadcaster.

McCarver had a record 34-year stretch of broadcasting big-league baseball at the highest level. He called 24 of the 29 World Series from 1985-2013, across three networks, wrapping up the unprecedented run with 14 in a row. In one stretch, he called postseason contests for 29 consecutive years. He also did 22 All-Star games, another record for an analyst. ...

McCarver had 21 seasons as a big-league player, from the time he was called up by the Cardinals in 1959 until wrapping it up by playing in six games for the Phillies in 1980 — making him one of the few to have played in four decades. He was inducted into the Cardinals' Hall of Fame in 2017. ...Rest of story

He just retired last year.

I'll be honest, the little I saw from him, I was never terribly impressed with him. He had an interview show that the local TV station put on immediately after the 11:00 news, in a move I was convinced was a ploy to get people to fall asleep so they'd wake up in time for the morning news! Definitely dry. But perhaps he was better tailored to the hardcore baseball fan than the casual observer like me.

Richard Belzer, Extraordinarily Smart-Ass as a Comic and a TV Cop, Dies at 78

Quote

Richard Belzer, the beloved comedian who began as an edgy stand-up performer before finding further fame as the cynical but stalwart detective John Munch on Homicide: Life on the Street and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, has died. He was 78.

Belzer died early Sunday at his home in Bozouls in southwest France, writer Bill Scheft, a longtime friend of the actor, told The Hollywood Reporter. “He had lots of health issues, and his last words were, ‘bleep you, bleep,'” Scheft said.

Belzer made his film debut in the hilarious The Groove Tube (1974), warmed up audiences in the early days of Saturday Night Live and famously was put to sleep by Hulk Hogan.

That Hollywood Reporter article details what a lousy childhood Belzer had. Good for him for overcoming.

Rossington's follow-up after the plane crash, the Rossington Collins Band, was one of my dad's favorite bands.

As I like to tell people, Lynyrd Skynyrd isn't music, it's culture. My Southern relatives appreciated them in a way that Northerners couldn't understand. Freebird was almost the unofficial state song for the state of Alabama for them back then.

RIP Mr. Rossington and someone turn out the lights when they exit. It was one heck of a run.

The Republic is lost.

Southern names can be different. I think their first drummer was Artimus Pyle.

His wife was named Dale Krantz?

Yes, that’s her name. She’s got an incredible singing voice. Is one of the BGV for Skynyrd.

I can feel Your presence here with me.

Why not, no one thought it odd back when Dale Evans was married to Roy Rogers.

Down here Taylor, Tyler, Dale, Riley, Landon, Morgan, Madison, Logan, can be either male or female.

Robert Blake dead: 'In Cold Blood,' 'Baretta' star was 89
 By Brooke Kato
March 9, 2023 7:55pm

Robert Blake, a controversial actor best known for his roles in the television series “Baretta” and the film “In Cold Blood,” is dead at 89.

His niece, Noreen Austin, announced that he died from heart disease in Los Angeles, Deadline reported.

The Post has reached out to Blake’s representatives and family for comment.

Born Michael Gubitosi in 1933, his tenured Hollywood career spanned six decades – from his childhood appearance “Our Gang” (1939) to his most notable role in the 1967 adaptation of Truman Capote’s book “In Cold Blood.”

He also starred in “Treasure of the Sierra Madre” (1948), “Electra Glide in Blue” (1973) and “Lost Highway” (1997), his final film.

Blake scored a Primetime Emmy Award in 1975 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for “Baretta,” in which he played the titular character, Det. Tony Baretta, for four seasons.

He also received three other Emmy nominations.

Jerry Samuels dies at 85.

Samuels had a handful of top-40 hits in the early 1960s as a songwriter, including "As If I Didn't Know" for Adam Wade, and "The Shelter of Your Arms" for Sammy Davis Jr.

But he is perhaps most (in)famous for his 1966 record "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!" which he released under the alias Napoleon XIV.
