Yup they have severely shrunk the foot print of the stores, saves on maintenance and limits dine-ins which saves on drink refills and staffing, same with the kiosks which are a direct response to socialists pushing up the minimum wage through several means, including paying people to sit on their asses at home during the covid farce. My old store that I ran for 22 years was torn down with a remodel less than half it's size and elimination of a very labor intensive playland. Ain't progress bitchin? I will add though that refurbishing that damn apple pie tree was very expensive so they got fazed out fairly quickly.
