No, its at the grocery store with the cat food. I've had several of our fur babies come to us as tiny little things just starting to grow teeth. Usually a month of so of milk from a syringe, that works better than a bottle, and they are ready for canned kitten chow.
@Cyber Liberty I wish I had know about that a few years ago. I feed abandoned cats that live in the woods behind a local shopping center every day. Some were born there, not abandoned. I was feeding this one black female wild cat every day for months, and while she, would let me get close while I was feeding them, there was no way I could touch her.
Then, one day,out of the blue, she comes right up to me and starts doing "figure 8's" around my legs and purring. So I said to myself,"Self, this cat is tired of living in the wild,so pick her up,take her to the vet for a checkup and all the neccessary meds she needs, and then take her home.
She let me pick her up and put her in my car,and then let me pick her up again and put her in a cage at the vets.
Then I want home.
When I went to the vets to check on her the next day I discovered the reason she had suddenly gotten so friendly was because she had been pregnant with 9 kittens, and they were trying, without success,or come out backwards. The vet had to do emergency surgery on her,and was only able to save one little black kitten. I took him home to feed and care for until his mother recovered from the surgery, but he died a couple of days later.
Now I know I should have gotten that special milk, not regular milk to feed him.
BTW,she was pretty much "instantly tame" when I brought her home from the vets after she recovered from the surgery. There is ZERO danger of her running out an open door to "life free" again. Any time I open a door, she runs and hides.
BTW,she is never much further from me than a few feet away anytime I am in the house, and is VERY affectionate. Never saw a feral cat get so tame so quickly in my life. She still runs and hides if I have company, but if I don't invite many people to come see me,so that's not going to happen.
