Back in the day my daughter was a teen there wasn't texting so I would just say in the background "make sure he knows your dad has a gun and a shovel'. Of course since I had run the local MickeyD's for years all the boys already knew and feared me, it was like a bonus happy77

I just backed em in a corner, poking em in the chest as I told em:

Remember... whatever you do to her, I'm gonna do to you.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

That's because the gays are still doing it with a guy.

@Right_in_Virginia

They are probably  the postal employees see more than anyone else in this day of "Both parents need to have jobs to pay the bills".

I was a lettercarrier,and turned down opportunities to be a clerk. No way in HELL did  I want to be trapped inside that building all day,when I could be out walking around and delivering mail. Yeah,I usually  ended up  driving a jeep instead of walking,but I  preferred to walk if possible.

I even retired from the post office without ever having one steady route. I enjoyed walking one day on one route,and then driving a jeep the next day on another route. It kept me from getting bored.

@Kamaji

Yeah,I can not only identify with that,I think I probably said something similar in the past.

All I know for a fact is that after 20+ years of not drinking ANY form of alcohol,I still sometimes have people,sometimes even people I don't know, make rude and angry comments about my past conduct.

Which results in me saying something like "Bleep you,MF. If you have something to say about anything I said or did,the time to say or do it was back then."

One guy did tell me after picking me up hitchiking back to the job after the company truck broke down that "The only reason I stopped to pick you up was because I didn't want you to tear the side of my van off."

I saw no reason whatsoever to say anything at that point. Sometimes when something is working for you,best to just let it roll. To this day I don't have the slightest clue to what I did that pissed him off.

  Perhaps we should go ahead and try Plan 10, whatever that is.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Even cheaper, unless you need to buy a replacement, they are made of an ABS plastic.

I wish it was just water, when I was about three or for my older brother said put your finger here on top of this(sparkplug) then he pulled the starting rope **nononono* If I said this didn't lead to many years of trust issues I would be lying.

Fun fact: The dog, Old Yeller, although described in the dialogue as a mongrel, is portrayed by a 170-pound Yellow Mastador (Labrador Retriever/English Mastiff cross)

Disney could still play the race card by using a black Mastador :tongue2:

@Smokin Joe

Been there,done that. Yeah,I did have to take parts out into the "barn" to do grinding,welding,etc,etc,etc because the  tools were out there,but the Harley parts went right back into the house once the work was done/the paint dried.

Didn't park it in the house,but only because I couldn't get it up the steps. It did get parked right outside my window,though,where me and my shotgun slept.

My current Harley  is sleeping inside my 45x60 workshop,covered with  blankets so nobody can see it. Should probably sell it,but I am hoping one day my hip and back will get well enough to let me swing my leg over it so I can go riding again.

If that ever happens,I  will probably even finish the one I have that is half-done  and stored in a bedroom.

   I had spend many nights in the garage rebuilding the 350 in my 74 Nova SS my wife made the snide remark that you Love that car more than me, the night before.  Before I put the HOTTER Cam in I shouted her name to come see.  My pants were dropped and my <bleep> was laying on the first cam shaft bearing in the block.  We laughed about that forever.

Had a woman come in the cabinet shop and she showed me a pic showing where  an entryway wall jogged back and they had run ducting and vent half in and half out of the wall. She asked me what they could do about that. I said sue the contractor. She gave me the LOOK. Still makes me laugh. It is easy enough to build a cabinet with a channeled back to hide those mistakes.
She asked me name my foe then. I said the need within some men to fight and kill their brothers without thought of Love or God. Ken Hensley

I,personally,have no interest in that sort of thing.

Not so much, here with Papa Johns. There is a local outfit over in Fairview Montana where the pizza is worth the drive.

According to https://vitalrecord.tamhsc.edu/6-weird-body-facts/ :

Quote
Every time you scratch an itch, rub your nose or sit at your desk, dead skin cells fall off your body. Humans shed about 600,000 skin cells per day and up to 1.5 pounds of skin cells per year. Research from the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology found that shedding skin contributes to 69 to 88 percent of dust in our homes–now, that’s gross.

I recognize the roofline as being from a late 30's to 40's show car,but the rest is a mystery to  me.

I suspect it is something cobbled together by a customizer to use as a travel trailer in remote areas.

Just a guess,though.

There's still a few of these around:

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

Lucille Ball made the most lucrative MISTAKE in world history.
She bought "Star Trek" because she misunderstood the show.
She thought it was a show about "Hollywood Stars".
She thought it was a kind of discussion/documentary about Hollywood elite.

This is one of the reasons Star Trek only lasted 3 seasons.
Lucy along with many Americans simply could not understand the show.
Plus, William Shatner (White) kissed Nichelle Nichols (Black) on screen which was a scandal in 1968.
First interracial kiss on national television.

LOL! Women.

@240B

Well,that is not the fault of the women fire fighters,it is the fault of the idiots that set the fire. They obviously set it a lot bigger than it needed to be,and maybe in an area where fires of any size shouldn't have been set.

As well as maybe not  properly supervising the fire being set and assuring there were enough firemen  and equipment standing by if things went wrong.

My in-laws had a bathroom like this. It grossed me out. Cannot imagine how much mold, mildew, and gunk they will find when they finally lift those carpets, from people getting out of the shower. And having carpet next to the toilet is just making a pee-catcher which cannot be easily cleaned.

My bathroom is all tile, the way God intended.

The others simply programmed their AI to fold when another went all in. They programmed based on odds without consideration of bluffing. Not that surprising, especially from programmers that don't actually play poker.

Something like that. It is not representative of real life.
I play poker a lot. Once in a while some player will try this very strategy, going all-in every hand. Whenever I see this I chuckle. They are almost always the first to bust out of the game. Sometimes it works, but it is rarely successful. It just depends on luck and the skill level of the other players. Nobody can consistently draw a winning hand 10 times in a row to win the whole game.

No, its at the grocery store with the cat food.  I've had several of our fur babies come to us as tiny little things just starting to grow teeth.  Usually a month of so of milk from a syringe, that works better than a bottle, and they are ready for canned kitten chow.

@Cyber Liberty

I wish I had know about that a few years ago. I feed abandoned cats that  live in the woods behind a local shopping center every day. Some were born  there,not abandoned. I was feeding this one black female wild cat every day for months,and while she,would let me get close while I was feeding them,there was no way I could touch her.

Then,one day,out of the blue,she comes right up to me and starts doing "figure 8's" around my legs and purring. So I said to myself,"Self,this cat is tired of living in the wild,so pick her up,take her to the vet for a checkup and all the neccessary meds she needs,and then take her home.

She let me pick her up and put her in my car,and then let me pick her up again and put her in a cage at the vets.

Then I want home.

When I went to the vets to check on her the next day I discovered the reason she had suddenly gotten  so friendly was because she had been pregnant with 9 kittens,and they  were trying,without success,or come out backwards. The vet had to do emergency  surgery on her,and was only able to save one little black kitten. I took him home to feed and care for until his mother recovered from the surgery,but he died a couple of days later.

Now I know I should have gotten that special milk,not regular milk to feed him.

BTW,she was pretty much "instantly tame" when  I  brought her home from the vets after she recovered from the surgery. There is ZERO danger of her running out an open door to "life free" again. Any time I open a door,she runs and hides.

BTW,she is never much further  from me than a few feet away anytime I am in the house,and is VERY affectionate. Never saw a feral cat get so tame so quickly in my life. She still runs and hides if I have company,but if I don't invite many people to come see me,so that's not going to happen.

@Cyber Liberty

No, you cannot be faulted for what happened with that Momma.  Those kits were already fatally sick when Momma first came to you.  Ya done good, Soldier!

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. I do not do 'blind dates'. But from what I read on the internet this is more common than you might think.
Girl gets the date. Invites all her friends including her current boyfriend ostensibly for 'safety'.

Guilty.

I STILL retain the cabling to transmit files over serial and printer ports. WHY???
I still have IDE hard drives and cabling laying around (all the way down to 80g)...
I still have a full selection of molex cables to go with em.
There's a whole tray box FULL of SDRAM (though nothing under 512).
I have processors all the way back to AMD K series.
There's a whole stack of CD-Roms, and another of DVD-ROMS and a bucket of CDRs and DVDRs to go with em.
I was digging around the other day and found an ISA modem...
I still have a 5 1/4" floppy drive... Just in case, I guess...

I've been at it a while. It's bloody nothing compared to my pal Jim... He has a literal barn-full - I mean to the rafters full... I KNOW there's got to be running antique boxes in there worth bank... But I have no idea how you'd ever get at em.  2 foot wide rabbit warren trails running through it, stacked 12 feet high all over... Maybe 4000-5000 ft2 on the floor, packed clean to the roof.

He HAS whatever you need... If he can find it. And no one else ever will.

@roamer_1

I think this is pretty  much true of everybody  that didn't grow up wealthy,or even  middle-class.

I remember using electrical tape to get the tires on my first bicycle to hold air. I got the bike at a dump. This was back in the days when people with low land just let people dump stuff on it so they could build it up. OR,it could just be because people dumped stuff there and he wasn't around to stop it. I even remember seeing an abandoned and complete 31 Ford 4 door sedan there once. Even still had the tires and hubcaps on it,but  my father HATED old cars and there was no way in hell he was going to bring it home for me.

Probably/maybe could have patched the tube,but my  father wouldn't let me use any  of tools to take the wheel and tire off,and wouldn't help me do it. Now that I look back on it,I guess he was probably  embarrassed that I had to pull a bicycle out of a trash dump to get one.

@sneakypete

Nothing to be embarrassed of in that.

I'm a redneck boy, and can testify... The only way we get nice things is to drag em home busted and fix em. It's just a bare fact. I rarely buy anything new, even if I have the money. Just got a new (to me) barbecue here... The boy drug it home for me and we put a new propane kit on it. Maybe twenty bucks in it... And now I can grill up a burger without building a fire. It's a little one, maybe 125 bucks new... But the point is, I never even thought to look for a new one.  And neither did my kid. happy77

There is something to that. I knew some people that would go to the Sun Valley (Idaho) dump and score high end appliances and other assorted items. Some things in unopened boxes. Brand new stuff. Seems the rich people would trade out stuff just to get the newest models. Probably after a redecorating spree. The people I knew would sell what they salvaged for the most part.
