Elon Musk is putting the Democratic National Committee on high alert as he threatens to reveal more “smoking guns” in his efforts to release internal communications and documents.
Musk, who recently became Twitter CEO, released never-before-seen information about the social media platform’s decision to suppress news about Hunter Biden’s laptop in October 2020. The “Twitter files,” as the internal information was called, were the subject of a more than two-hour audio chat on Twitter Spaces Saturday night.
The billionaire called the censorship of the laptop tantamount to interference in the 2020 election.
“When Twitter does a team’s bidding before an election and shuts down dissenting votes in a crucial election, that’s the definition of election interference,” Musk said per the Daily Mail.
He went so far as to call Twitter an “arm of the Democratic National Committee.”
“It’s absurd,” Musk said.
Musk admitted during the audio chat that he hadn’t read the Twitter files, so his “understanding is limited.” However, it seemed to him that “a very different standard applies to Republican candidates in the US than to Democratic candidates”.
Asked if he would make public requests from the DNC and the Biden campaign to remove specific posts on Twitter beyond Hunter Biden’s laptop, Musk said, “Yes, the intent is to declassify all files.”
