Ah... Vivaldi...

Hi Lando!

I am going to make a Vivaldi CD as gifts to our past clients.

The idea that somebody looked at a purple onion and called it a red onion really bothers me.

Some kids are amazing -- musically.

My nephew is a professional drummer, he also teaches.  This week one of his new students is this little girl -- cutest thing ever and he said she is amazing, you would think she has been playing drums her entire life she is taking to it like a fish to water......  and her little red drums are so cute!!!!  He gets a lot of pleasure out of teaching children to play, they are sponges.

Vivaldi Four Seasons Winter Sand Animation film Ferenc Cakó

only because Winter is my favorite of all.

Incidentally, has anybody noticed that they are currently using a part of Vivaldi's "Winter" in a car commercial?  The one where the guy scales an auto transport truck.

I think it's Volkswagon or Hyundai.

Antonio Vivaldi: Concerto for 2 violoncellos, strings & b.c. in G minor (RV 531) - I. II. III.

Is a violoncello a different sound than a cello?

Is it like an alto-sax?

Mozart died at 1 a.m. on 5 December 1791 at the age of 35.

The New Grove gives a matter-of-fact description of his funeral:

Mozart was buried in a common grave, in accordance with contemporary Viennese custom, at the St. Marx Cemetery outside the city on 7 December. If, as later reports say, no mourners attended, that too is consistent with Viennese burial customs at the time; later Jahn (1856) wrote that Salieri, Süssmayr, van Swieten and two other musicians were present. The tale of a storm and snow is false; the day was calm and mild.[66]

The idea that somebody looked at a purple onion and called it a red onion really bothers me.

"It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living" F. Scott Fitzgerald

There's something about Mary  A-minor!!

If you aren't in a better mood after 3-4, dial 911!

Julia Fischer - Spring - movement .3° Allegro (HD)

Seems appropriate going into the last 'month' of Spring.

Rachmaninoff Cello Sonata - Yo-Yo Ma

The Ghost of my Brother, Lost.    .....spadekiller video

This is the most amazing piece of music and video I've heard/seen in a long time.

Yo-Yo Ma is a treasure.

The  Ghost of My Brother Lost

From the tree the last apple
Fell to earth alone
Spoiled by summer’s touch
Yellow scared, burned with rust

Wasting in the barley grass
In the froth of golden hops
Hides a better soul,
The ghost of my brother lost.

How loved he was!
Will he ever know?
For envy casts
Fond memories off…

Into stormy seas green with greed
Like old whiskey bottles bobbing blind.

In the shadows of his father’s tomb
He pillaged his brother’s birthright share

And now upon stiffened knees
He stands aloft
A barren tree in a field of
Forgotten love.
