Moonlight Sonata

I've noticed that this has grown by almost a half million views in little over a week.

The best interpretation ever!

Handel - Sarabande

Thought this was very appropriate to 'resurrect' today, Easter Sunday!

Hope you enjoy it.

Beautiful, Lando.

Had the windows open and was playing the selections from this thread.  My tinnitus warrants higher volume.

When I went outside, my neighbors next door thanked me and asked me "What CD were you playing?"

This is shaping up as a beautiful thread.  Mrs. Lando has asked about it too!

The slide show with this one is as beautiful as the music, imo.

Wow!  Strange at first, but then I couldn't take my eyes off of this.  They have done a whole series in this manner.

There is also a series using held notes as points of an angle making multiple triangles.  It's interesting to watch.

I guess these arrangements can be made digitally, without instruments.  All you need is time.   And an ear.

I close with this (I have to get to bed... cooking tomorrow for a house full).  I hope I am not too far afield, but the human voice is simply beautiful...  Hope you don't mind.

I went back and listened to this again right after Perlman's violin concerto.

Thanks again, my FRiend!

Well, they didn't have ipads and X boxes to distract them.  That's a start.

But writing for each piece and hearing and seeing the notes on paper in your head?

No wonder some of them were unbearable to be around.

Joshua Bell playing Ave Maria.

recent comment at YouTube:

How can somebody dislike this? Seriously. The melody of this song just... It vibrates inside of your soul.
It's like feathers falling from the Heavens, landing safely on a soft, velvet pillow, the world being reborn.
Perfect. Soft. The singers nowadays are nowhere as good as the sound of a violin playing this beautiful song.
So, allow me to ask, why dislike? Why not enjoy, the four beautiful minutes of your life,
for you may never hear something so beautiful again. Ave Maria is truly beautiful.

The idea that somebody looked at a purple onion and called it a red onion really bothers me.

LA VIDA ES BELLA - Ernesto Cortázar

comment at YouTube:

To see the innocents of a child is like looking into the face of Angels - Children a gift to have and hold - Love them through out your whole life - Before you know it they will be ready to leave home .Now while your children are young take a moment and look at all the little things you may miss - For our children are a gift from god and time goes quickly by - Before you tuck them into bed don't forget to say- I Love You-Thankyou - From Joy 10*************

Vivaldi, L'Estro Armonico, op.3-10 (RV 580), Concerto for four violins

Vivaldi Concerto for 4 violins & cello in b minor

A nice slide show of the period.  The orchestra was comprised of about 40 girls....orphans, who were taken in by the Church and taught music.

I could listen to this forever!
