Prosecutor In Brittney Griner Case Seeks 9.5 Year Prison Sentence

WNBA star Brittney Griner just got some news she definitely did not want to hear from the prosecutor of her drug case in Russia.

The prosecutor is seeking a nine-and-a-half-year sentence for the basketball star who pleaded guilty to carrying cannabis oil in Russia, Reuters reported.

Her attorney argued that there are other big-name athletes who use cannabis as a defense for her client.

“In sprinting there is Usain Bolt, in Formula 1 – Michael Schumacher, and in women’s basketball there is Brittney Griner,” her attorney Maria Blagovolina said.

On Wednesday, her attorney announced that her trial in Russia should be done soon.

“She still knows that the end (of her trial) is near and of course, she heard the news, so she is hoping that sometime she could be coming home,” her attorney, Maria Blagovolina, said, Reuters reported.

Her attorney said that after the trial a trade of Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, known as the “Merchant of Death” for Griner was “legally possible.”

Seems irrelevant to me, unless so-called medical marijuana is permitted in Russia.

I'm pretty sure she plead Guilty.  Russia will throw the book at her in order to snub Biteme.  I doubt very much Putin would give that up for an arms dealer. 

Maybe Grinder will spend some time learning all three stanzas of the Star Spangled Banner.

I doubt it.  These aliens are there because they love the commie system and people like that always think the rules don't apply to them.  Grinder is more surprised than anybody she got busted, I'm sure.

 Griner Will Not Be Getting a Cushy Cell, WNBA Star Instead Being Sent to Russian Prison Colony

Following her Thursday conviction on drug charges in Russia, WNBA star Brittney Griner will not be getting special treatment in a fancy jail. Instead, she is being sent straight to a Russian penal colony.

According to The New York Times, a Russian judge convicted Griner on charges of attempting to smuggle illegal narcotics into the country.

She received a nine-year sentence, and unlike in the United States, Griner will not be guaranteed safety from cruel punishment.

“Corrective labor colonies” are the most common type of prison in Russia, Unherd reported. But that does not mean they are a walk in the park.

In fact, the outlet described these penal colonies as “a place where the authorities can act with impunity, free to torture prisoners in the hope of extracting a false confession.”

In these colonies, prisoners are assigned to “work brigades” and given daily tasks to complete, Unherd reported. Even if they complete the tasks, the system is designed to punish them further.

“In many ways, even more cruel was the Catch-22 built into [the] forced labour: Fill your work quotas and the quotas themselves will be increased; yet fail to meet them and you’ll be punished.”

She thought she could take outlawed drugs to Russia and skate by playing the woke race card, simple as that.

I heard her speak today to say she was sorry.  I never knew she was a man.  Hope she fairs well in her new housing.
