For 3 of my college years I lived in a co-ed dorm (co-ed by wings, 4 wings to the floor, 2 male, 2 female). Living there was contingent on GPA, so I think the general attitudes were much more mature, and it was an enriching experience, keeping us guys from being the slobs we could have been, getting us to mind our manners a mite more, and far from the orgy some people imagine when they think of co-ed dorms.

But that was in the 1970s, and different times. The culture has changed, and I am not sure the results would be similar.
