Navy ship to be named after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Ginsburg “is instrumental to why we now have women of all backgrounds, experiences and talents serving within our ranks," the Navy secretary said.

A Navy fuel ship will be named for the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in recognition of her efforts to advance women's rights and gender equality, Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro said Thursday.

The future John Lewis-class replenishment oiler — a ship that transfers fuel to the Navy's operating carrier strike groups — will be the eighth such vessel to be named for an historic figure who fought for civil and human rights.

Others include former Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, abolitionist and women's rights activist Sojurner Truth, gay rights icon Harvey Milk and civil rights leader John Lewis.

I think Olive Oyl has more right to have a ship named after her.  At least she dated a sailor.

If you had to pick one person who is proably most removed from the navy, or any part of it, this would be your choice.

Doesn't the gubmit build enough buildings focusing on welfare and entitlements that they could take her name?
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Maybe it's the gubmit's way of mocking the military. :pondering:

So, one greasy, oily scow to be named in honor of another greasy, oily scow.

How fitting.

Not new at all.

The U.S. Navy launches the USNS Harvey Milk in San Diego on Saturday. Alex Gallardo / AP
Harvey Milk was a gay activist. He is the stereotype of everything Marines say the Navy is. Why not name a ship after him? What a brave Naval HERO! He took many more than one for the team.

Since Zumwalt, the Navy has gone steadily downhill with ridiculous PC rules. Zumwalt brought radical Left ideology into the Navy over military common sense. And it never left since.

Like everything else in America, accolades in the Navy and everywhere are all about how perverted and Leftist a person is. Nothing about honor, service, or decency will apply. RBG belongs there, right beside Harvey Milk.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

I think the name Rue Paul should be a candidate for a ship name, too.  Think of all the military people himher has "entertained" over the years!
