NEW YORK (AP) — Fox News Channel says it has hired Caitlyn Jenner as a contributor, with her first appearance set for Thursday on Sean Hannity’s program.

Jenner, the former Olympic decathlete, ran an unsuccessful campaign for California governor last year. The network said she’ll offer commentary and analysis across various Fox News Media platforms.

“Caitlyn’s story is an inspiration to us all,” said Suzanne Scott, Fox News Media CEO. “She is a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community and her illustrious career spans a variety of fields that will be a tremendous asset for our audience.” ... More at AP

Why conservative critics are wrong to bash Fox News for hiring Caitlyn Jenner

Fox News really stepped on a beehive this week when it announced the hiring of former Olympian and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner.

Previously known as Bruce Jenner, Caitlyn became one of the most famous transgender people in America after transitioning in 2015. She has described herself as a "constitutional conservative" and unsuccessfully ran for governor in California as a Republican in 2021. Now, Fox has hired Jenner as a contributor to provide regular political commentary on-air.

"Caitlyn’s story is an inspiration to us all," Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in the announcement. "She is a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community and her illustrious career spans a variety of fields that will be a tremendous asset for our audience."

In some more socially conservative circles on the Right, this development prompted ridicule and criticism. "This is not conservatism," Daily Wire culture reporter Megan Basham tweeted . "I’m embarrassed for my friends at Fox News," BlazeTV host Elijah Schaffer said in the response to the news.

But what, exactly, is the argument here? Simply that Fox shouldn’t hire Jenner because of the former Olympian identifying as transgender? ...

A big tent exists on the Right, and it includes many more libertarian-minded people (including myself) who have absolutely no issue with an adult like Caitlyn Jenner.  ...

Brad also is gay, which may factor into his opinion.

Watching Fox in Prime Time is now is like a knee jerk exercise. 

Carlson and Ingraham are tending toward caution in Ukraine, while Hannity is a screaming war hawk.
The fact Hannty gives Linzy Graham a voice there, is pretty disgusting too.

They used to have transitional lead ins between the host.  That stopped, and I am guessing this is why

Obnoxious and condescending is his style.  OTOH, he is maybe the biggest knife welding fox hosts as far as attacking Biden. But that too is distracting in that he parrots his own 3 talking points in monontonous repetitive fashion nightly.

I haven't watched Hnnitty since the election.  I do watch Carlson ..... but turn it off five minutes before the show ends to prevent being counted as a Hannity viewer ..... even for a moment.

After the last time he let Linzy on his program, I pretty much am taking an hour off.  Ingraham is worth the return though.

When I watch Jenner it freaks me out. He's doing his best to look feminine, poorly. But then he speaks and still sounds like the way he was born....a man. It's just weird.
