Supreme Court Allows Navy to Reassign Vaccine-Refusing SEALs

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Friday that the Navy can make its own decisions about whether to deploy sailors, including SEALs who refuse the coronavirus vaccine.
The decision reverses the rulings of both a district judge in Texas, where a case brought by a group of Navy SEALs was originally filed, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas dissented. Justice Brett Kavanaugh issued a concurring opinion.
The case, as well as several others service members have filed in other districts, created questions about whether courts would limit, if not overturn, the military's COVID-19 mandate.
