Black News Channel, an independent cable news channel founded to give a voice to perspectives underrepresented on legacy cable news channels, is shutting down, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Originally launched in 2020, and backed by billionaire Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Kahn, the channel rebooted itself last year with high-profile talent like New York Times veteran Charles M. Blow and cable news regular Marc Lamont Hill.

The average audience for BNC was fewer than 10,000 viewers, according to Nielsen data.

When Watts announced the network, he signaled that it would have a conservative slant(.) He touted a possible show with right-wing radio host and former California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder. (This never materialized—see the note above about how it ended up hiring left-wing CRT adherents.)

Is New York Times cloumnist, Charles Blow, any relation to early 1980s rapper, Kurtis Blow?  Kurtis Blow would have more street cred.

Did they at least keep score of gang feud body counts during their sports segment?  Which city's gangs won the Bloods and Crips divisional body count championships?
