Breaking: New guidance from CDC says about 70% of Americans can safely unmask indoors

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new guidance on Friday that recommended most Americans could unmask safely in public indoor settings.

Under the new guidance, about 70% of Americans live in a region where the threat from coronavirus is low or moderate, and so can unmask.

The CDC still recommends that people keep wearing masks in counties were the threat from coronavirus is high, which includes about 37% of counties and about 28% of the population.

The guidelines are not binding, local governments will continue deciding their own community guidelines.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky explained the rationale behind changing the guidelines to reporters Friday.

“This new framework moves beyond just looking at cases and test positivity, to evaluate factors that reflect the severity of disease — including hospitalizations and hospital capacity — and helps to determine whether the level of Covid-19 and severe disease are low, medium or high in a community,” said Walensky.

Yeah, because the "political" science changed.

That map looks like a Jackson Pollack painting—or camouflage. No patterns of transmission (other than, oddly, the entire state of West Virginia being lit up orange for some odd reason), and of course, the formula used to calculate the new risk factors isn't being made public so we don't know how much weight is being given to each factor.

What a relief! All these years I've been masked up at home, just waiting for the official okey-dokey from Little Tony Fraudci!

That map makes no sense at all.  What are the boundaries?  AZ is carved up in ways that aren't counties, yet all data is by county.  Why are Lake Havasu City and Bullhead City orange while Kingman is yellow, for example?  These three cities are all in Mohave County.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.

100% of Americans can safely ignore anything the CDC says.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

I wonder if that is the same 70% who don't give a single damn what CDC has to say anyway?

As usual the CDC is 6 months behind.
In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
