Bob Saget cause of death revealed

Comedian and actor Bob Saget died as a result of head trauma, his family revealed in a statement to multiple outlets on Wednesday.

Authorities "concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep," the statement said, according to CNN.

It was also determined that drugs and alcohol were not factors in his death.

"Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities' investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us," the family's statement said.

The 65-year-old "Full House" star was found deceased in an Orlando hotel last month while on a stand-up comedy tour. Last month, his wife, Kelly Rizzo, told "Good Morning America" that Saget had been in good health prior to his death.

An autopsy completed the day after Saget's death found no signs of foul play.

The family thanked Saget's fans for their continued support throughout their grieving process.

"As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter," they wrote.

Bob Saget's family files suit to block further release of records related to star's death to protect ‘privacy’

Bob Saget's family filed a lawsuit Tuesday attempting to block officials from releasing further information regarding the comedian's cause of death "in order to protect" their "privacy," one of the family's attorneys said.

The lawsuit, which was filed in Orange County and obtained by Fox News Digital, names Orange County Sheriff John Mina and the District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office.

"In order to protect the Saget family’s privacy, today on their behalf, I filed for an injunction to prevent the disclosure of any photographs or videos of Mr. Saget made by the authorities during their investigation," Brian Bieber, an attorney representing the Saget family, told Fox News Digital.

Report: Police Have New Theory About Bob Saget's Death, but It Raises Even More Questions

An autopsy report showed that Saget had an abrasion on his scalp, a fracture at the base of his skull, fractures around his eye sockets, bleeding between the brain and tissue covering the brain, as well as bruises to the brain. A toxicology analysis didn’t show any illicit drugs or toxins in Saget’s body.

According to reports, the police think he was injured in his room because he couldn’t have been injured and then driven two hours — from Jacksonville where his show was that night to his hotel room — in that condition. I’m not sure that rules out anything happening at the hotel before going into the room or nearby.

The hotel says that the electric door lock showed there was only one entry — presumably, Saget coming in — and there was no entry until the hotel staffer opened it the next day.

His family has moved to block the release of any records, citing privacy concerns. They are worried about pictures that could potentially be released. The court ruled in favor of the family, granting a temporary injunction preventing the release.
