The Army’s New Rifle Scope Can Predict the Path of a Bullet

...before soldiers even pull the trigger.

The U.S. Army has picked a new computerized rifle scope for its next-generation combat rifle.
"Next-Generation Squad Weapons—Fire Control" will go on the Army's future assault rifle and automatic rifle.
The scope finally puts a ballistic computer, long a standard part of main battle tanks, in the hands of American soldiers.

The U.S. Army has picked a new, futuristic scope for its next-generation infantry weapons. The service awarded the contract, potentially worth $2.7 billion, to Wisconsin-based Vortex Optics. The scope allows soldiers to shoot effectively at even farther ranges by predicting the path of a bullet before the trigger is pulled. The Next-Generation Squad Weapons—Fire Control (NGSW-FC), as the scopes are called, will go on the new Next-Generation Squad Weapons—Rifle (NGSW-R) and Next-Generation Squad Weapons—Automatic Rifle (NGSW-AR), due to be selected this year.

Article doesn't say how data such as distance, temperature, elevation, humidity, wind speed, and uphill/downhill angle are input.
