Parenting involves all three, but I leaned heavily on "How's that working out for you?"
I've found that parenting involves a judicious balance between #1 and #3.
That was first, pick 'em up, dust them off, fix their boo-boos, love 'em up. Then, after they have recovered and their limbic brain has crawled back in the corner, #3.
Not so cold. Walk outside when the sun warms the dog farts and listen to them go off....
With the Star Spangled Banner playing...just before the test pattern tone, only it was all in black and white....
@Smokin Joe Usually, immediately after "The Twilight Zone" episode ended.
Or Outer Limits! Two of my favorite shows of the era!
Night Gallery...
@Smokin Joe Mine, too. The old black and white "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" is another. I still watch them in black and white on the "secret" tv channels that the biggies own,but don't promote. They fill them with REALLY old tv shows they don't have to pay royalties on (my best guess) so they can justify keeping them to the FCC.They also show bile like "Petticoat Junction". Anything to keep the broadcast license live in case they need to expand.
I liked Alfred Hitchcock Presents, too. I even had a collection of stories he'd edited (one of the biggest, thickest books I owned at the time).
Don't know if this is actually true or not. But it did make me chuckle.
@Smokin Joe Even after all these decades,I STILL crack up when he marches out on the stage and says "Good Even-ing!"
