I will go against the grain of probably just about everyone here, in that I believe "de-population" would be desirable.
I remember the America of my childhood, early 1950's, when the population of the USA was around 140 million or even a little less. Growing up in Weston (CT), I remember wandering through field upon field of open spaces.
It's not like that anymore. All "built-up" in a suburban way, no more open fields for a kid to roam.
I liked things better as they were years ago.
Any animal population that increases uncontrollably will at some point suffer a collapse. We are headed towards that, whether such collapse be actively promulgated (by the greenunist governments, etc.), or simply spontaneous.
Must population keep increasing until places look like the futuristic LA of Blade Runner...? Or Soylent Green?
