Vaccinated AND boosted Senator Elizabeth Warren, 72, contracts COVID as Omicron variant surges 18 months after her brother died of coronavirus

    Warren announced she had a breakthrough case on Twitter Sunday afternoon
    The progressive Democrat's brother Don Reed Herring died of it in April 2020
    She urged all Americans to get their vaccines and booster shots if they haven't
    Warren is also the ninety-second member of Congress to test positive for COVID
    Her diagnosis comes amid rising COVID cases fueled by the Omicron variant

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19, she revealed on Twitter Sunday.

The progressive Democrat, 72, said her infection was mild and that she has had both vaccine doses as well as her booster shot.

'I regularly test for COVID & while I tested negative earlier this week, today I tested positive with a breakthrough case,' Warren wrote.

'Thankfully, I am only experiencing mild symptoms & am grateful for the protection provided against serious illness that comes from being vaccinated & boosted.'

In April 2020 Warren announced that her brother, Don Reed Herring, had died of the virus.

She used her Sunday announcement to make a public plea for people who haven't yet been inoculated to get it done.

'As cases increase across the country, I urge everyone who has not already done so to get the vaccine and the booster as soon as possible - together, we can save lives,' Warren wrote.

Where I live, a lot of people are coming down with upper respiratory illnesses similar to bronchitis. The ones I know have tested negative for Covid, much to the health department's dismay, I'm sure. A week's worth of antibiotics, and they're good as new. Statistically, are there any cases in this entire country of upper respiratory infection, sinus infection, "common colds" or anything else the gubmint can't term Covid, I wonder?

Looks like we need to fully equence Delta and Omicron variants, in addition to Wuhan Classic variants, and engineer immunotherapies that attack more then just the spike protein.
