Twitter chief executive Jack Dorsey is expected to step down from his position leading the social media company, CNBC reported, citing multiple sources.

It’s unclear exactly why Dorsey, who co-founded Twitter and currently serves as chief executive of financial technology firm Square, will step down, according to CNBC. Private equity firm Elliot Management previously attempted to oust Dorsey in 2020, the outlet reported.

The difference is that Zuckerberg owns Facebook and controls it through creative accounting tricks. Twitter is publicly held in every definition of the word, backed mainly by venture capital. No one kingpin controls it the way Zuckerberg does Facebook.

Even among Silicon Valley’s oddball geniuses, Jack Dorsey still stands out for his eccentricities.

“He’s almost like one of those Russian dolls, with a new outer shell put on every couple of years,” Nick Bilton, author of “Hatching Twitter,” told The Post of Dorsey’s fashion sense. “He went through a phase where he wore these weird Dior Homme [reverse collar] shirts. Now he’s in his [designer] Rick Owens bohemian phase. At one point he was obsessed with wabi-sabi, a Japanese design philosophy that is odd and eccentric. There’ve been jeans and A-line skirts.”

The tech world was rocked Monday by the announcement that Dorsey — the one-time punk rocker, NYU dropout, licensed masseur and would-be fashion designer — would be stepping down as CEO of Twitter, the company he co-founded in 2006.

“Nobody expected Jack to reach the heights that he did,” said a former employee. “He used to be a semi-homeless, hippie, software developer who couch surfed.   ...

There are growing concerns about the misuse of media and information that is not available elsewhere online as a tool to harass, intimidate, and reveal the identities of individuals. Sharing personal media, such as images or videos, can potentially violate a person’s privacy, and may lead to emotional or physical harm. The misuse of private media can affect everyone, but can have a disproportionate effect on women, activists, dissidents, and members of minority communities. When we receive a report that a Tweet contains unauthorized private media, we will now take action in line with our range of enforcement options. ...

Buried in the new Twitter policy regarding sharing private media of non public figures is a carveout for removing "private images" of public figures if Twitter decides that they are being used to harass them. I'm sure this won't be abused at all to benefit Democrat politicians.

Every new Twitter rule is to suspend conservative accounts at will - and liberals will continue to be able to say anything they want without anything happening to them.

These guys were emboldened when Amazon nuked Parler from orbit just as it was gaining steam. That's what we are up against here.

Referring to themselves as an organization, the Atlanta, Ga. cell of #Antifa (@afainatl) has released a statement condemning Twitter after some of their posts were removed for violating Twitter's privacy policy. They falsely claim Twitter is going to "bat for white supremacists."

I'll just leave it with the fact Jack Off Dorsey is leaving his compnay with a - $.23 EPS result, and stock is down 42% from earlier year highs.

With only a market cap of $35B, business model now restricting 90% of content, and pissing off half of the customer base?.....

I don't see this dog being able to hemorrhage money that long before the wolves start hounding at the front door.
