The Trump Comeback!
By J.B. Shurk

In hindsight, all those photoshopped images of Donald Trump as Rocky Balboa that were ubiquitous across the globe while he was in office should have been understood as obvious foreshadowing.  Of course Trump's journey in politics was always going to take a measure of the man and put meat onto the bones of one of Rocky's most memorable philosophical exhortations:

Quote
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows.  It is a very mean and nasty place. ... It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.  You, me, or nobody is going to hit as hard as life.  But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward.  That's how winning is done!

Holy smokes!  If that monologue doesn't serve as a fitting tribute to President Trump, I don't know what does.  Now here he comes off the mat once again, after being pummeled by a Deep State and a D.C. Uniparty that have tried to knock him out so many times, and all I can hear in the background of his increasingly visible presence on the national scene are the trumpets slowly picking up cadence and crescendoing into the adrenaline-pumping masterpiece, "Gonna Fly Now," which may as well serve as the autobiographical anthem for both the fictional pugilist and his real-life political incarnation.  Everybody loves a comeback story, and I think we're about to see one for the ages.

Can he win again is the question? It greatly depends on who the DEMS decide to run.  Again I am predicting Michael Obammy becomes Harris' VP and then runs in '24 along with either Jarrett or Rice.   That ticket may be difficult to beat ... and then there's the issue of stealing elections, etc.

:facepalm2: Biden is well on his way to being the worst president ever, but he did LEGITIMATELY!!!! win last year. Stop the denial. Let's get on with getting a good candidate for 2024. The Dems are ripe for plucking. Let's get somebody not named Trump and pluck them.

One of the most preposterous assertions made by Trump's Disciples is that he is a powerful candidate & campaigner.
Reality is that not only did he lose to Bozo Biden in 2020, he only marginally defeated Miss Hilarity in 2016, she being
arguably the most incompetent candidate since Caligula ruled Rome.

That is a lot to pack into one post.   Caligula..Rome...Trump.  Biden.   At least none of them were screwing Hillary in the biblical sense.

If things continue how they are, it won’t matter who the Democrats run. Any democrat will be tied to the Biden administration

The Democrats in 2008 effectively tied John McCain to George W. Bush

@Absalom

Both he and Hillary Clinton were the two most unpopular candidates to ever get the nomination. I don’t recall any president starting out their term with such high negatives.

If it wasn’t for the EC, Hillary Clinton would’ve been sitting in the White House. IMO, Trump squeaked it out simply because Hillary Clinton had the disadvantage of being the poster child for everything people in Middle America hated about Washington DC

I think his supporters are banking on things getting so bad, that  the general public will eagerly run into the arms of Donald Trump in 2024. That could happen. But I would hate to rely on just that

Intuitive observation and a note from history.
In 1916, Czarist Russia was being thrashed daily by Germany, suffering massive casualties.
This produced the turmoil that made the Bolshevik Revolution a relatively quick affair, as the
Russian People had despaired of the Romanovs. The consequences of that turnover were fateful.
The danger in letting matters deteriorate beyond any point of return is that the consequence could
be disastrous for a very long time as alienation appears to be growing among our Plain People.

I wish someone could explain why some men are so frightened by Donald Trump.  Is it rooted in envy?  Ignorance?  Soy milk?

This irrational fear is one of the most baffling phenomena of the ongoing Trump years.

I don't know of any men who are frightened by Trump.  I do know of a lot of men who see narcissistic, self-serving bombast for what it is, rather than mistaking it for competence and effectiveness as some women seem to do.  Those tend to be the kind of women who are unable to think effectively more than five minutes into the future or argue with logical consistency, so they resort to defamation and shaming language, particularly directed at men.

When people talked about Trump's behavior, the men in my life circle would dismiss it by saying "I don't give a bleep about narcissism or bombast or tweets....the guy is doing what I hired him to do."  Done.

They didn't go on and on about personality flaws or being "mean" to competitors for the most powerful office in the world.  The men in my circle are still not overcome with angst nor do they recoil in sanctimony when Trump punches back during a press conference or a speech; in an interview or an Internet communique   If they say anything, it's simply "about damn time".   Done.

And these men are educated and accomplished; they are military officers and C-Suite executives.

I don't know; maybe I'm surrounded by that "toxic masculinity" we're hearing so much about.  If this is the case, I can testify we need more of it.

I might understand if these conservatives had another as or more affective alternative.

But they do not. They never do.

I agree.  If nominated, I'll hold my nose again and vote for him.  Otherwise, my support till then is going to DeSanits, Cotton, or Hawley.

We can do better than Trump!!!

Laughable.  Everyone saw what Trump did during the '16 primaries. Who wants that level of attack, slander, and abuse?

I always get a kick out of people talking about how macho Trump is. Yes, he fought porn stars and dead senators and their chubby daughters

When it came to giving Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi their  spending wishes, they dominated him

The mean tweets were more of an annoyance and some of them were kind of funny.

But adding $8 trillion on his watch to our national debt is no laughing matter.

In reality, I think Trump was actually afraid of the Democratic Party.

Truth is, Donald Trump is not a bully or a macho man. He’s a snowflake
