Washington Post: Americans Should ‘Try to Lower Expectations,’ Accept Biden’s Supply Chain Crisis

Katherine Hamilton 19 Oct 2021

In what seems like an attempt to distance President Joe Biden from the supply chain crisis ravaging the country and the globe, the Washington Post — which is owned by Jeff Bezos, one of the richest men in the world — published an op-ed on Monday telling American consumers to “try to lower expectations” moving forward.

“Rather than living constantly on the verge of throwing a fit, and risking taking it out on overwhelmed servers, struggling shop owners or late-arriving delivery people, we’d do ourselves a favor by consciously lowering expectations,” Micheline Maynard wrote for the Post.

My expectations couldn't be any lower.  Lets go Brandon.

When will Biden give his malaise speech popularized by Carter?

Interesting. In just eight ten months, we have gone from a land of plenty (even if toilet paper got scarce) to having Soviet style shelves in the stores.

I feel sorry for Jimmah "The Peanut" Carter being compared to Biden.  It really isn't fair to compare the brain dead imbecile who currently occupies the whitehouse to Jimmy.  Carter had his faults but the guy was never a mean spirited vindictive ass hole.

Wow.  Talk about regurgitating the Carter Administration.  Shades of the "Crisis of Confidence" speech, telling us to turn down our thermostats, and turn down our expectations.

Sounds like something Goebbels would have said to the German people in 1944.

But it would have worked if we had just had the right people running it.

One of the things not being discussed is that these products sitting on these ships are prepaid so a substantial amount of capital is sitting on those ships.
Xmas sales generate a large percentage of annual revenue for retailers so we may see a lot of business cease operations if this does not get fixed soon.

Then, obviously, these are not the right people.

As for lowered expectations, this is a WaPo article, so...

The rats are ruling like they don’t expect to be held accountable at the polls.

I wonder why that is.

I said after Biden was elected the press are going to get more absurd in their defense of him. This is an attempt to guilt the public into being grateful. It'll fail, of course. But expect this theme ramp up in the coming years. It's already beginning. This article, the "high class problems" remake, Psaki's treadmill comment........

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

The thing is, WaPo is really happy about it.

@sneakypete

Maybe that’s what this article is trying to say. Maybe the writer meant  because the Biden administration is so incompetent, Americans need to lower their expectations

Which is peculiar, to a point, because Jeff Bezos has profited to obscene levels the past year and a half thanks to all these shutdowns. Guess who wasn't locked down? Amazon facilities. They were "essential."

So perhaps this is Bezos trying to discourage people from abandoning Amazon (which relies extensively on the global supply chain) and looking for local alternatives. There is always an ulterior motive. "Well, yeah, Amazon's failing, but guess what? You're not going to find it better anywhere else. Trust us. Things are tough all over. So get used to it!"

I have to laugh at how much of a clown show Bezos has made the Washington Post. I know the Post was left-wing before, but not quite New York Times left. Now it's just become a caricature.

Bare Shelves Will Make This A Merry Nothing-mas

Quote
This holiday season, we all have to look forward to the faces of sad kids gathered around the Christmas tree, or Hanukkah menorah, or the Kwanzaa hammer and sickle as we must tell them that their favorite holiday is a bust because America can’t get the stuff it needs from China. Even leftists’ kids, to the extent the leftists managed the mechanics of breeding, will be disappointed that Santa Marx will not be coming down the chimney, redistributing presents on what our beloved Veep Kamala Harris explained was her favorite childhood holiday.

The problem is not the inevitable end result of outsourcing the manufacturing of pretty much everything to the Chi Coms across the ocean. The plan decades ago was to help make a backward, poverty-stricken enemy into a peer competitor by having its sweat shops do all the actual building and making for America, while we retained important industries like diversity consulting, inclusion consulting, and equity consulting, but that is not the problem. Nor is the foreign ownership of port facilities, nor the union rules and air quality rules and rules for the sake of rules that prevent the expeditious unloading of cargo, the problem.

No, the problem is you.

Your expectations are simply too high. ...

I have no idea how I would go about lowering my expectations any lower than they are already.
