Pelosi and Pope Francis meet amid push for action on climate change
By Lexi Lonas - 10/09/21 12:14 PM EDT

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Pope Francis met Saturday, the same day the pontiff gave a speech calling on lawmakers in countries around the world to act on climate change.

“His Holiness’s encyclical Laudato Si’ is a powerful challenge to the global community to act decisively on the climate crisis with special attention to the most vulnerable communities,” Pelosi, a practicing Catholic, said in a statement released Saturday.

“I expressed the gratitude of those working on climate action in the Congress for the immense moral clarity and urgency that His Holiness continues to bring to the climate crisis, and how we continue to cherish his address to the Joint Session of Congress in 2015,” she added.

Francis on Saturday called for leaders to take action on climate change and put aside “narrow” partisan politics.

That's what I'd like to know, but by the pictures they look pretty darn chummy!  This IS the WORST pope we've ever had!!!!
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Why didn't the pope do this on abortion with her instead of a frivolous action like this?

The so called 'Pope' and Pelosi are made for each other, two peas in a pod.
Both their published opinions are almost verbatim recitation of each other.
If the Pope was working in D.C., he would be Pelosi's personal assistant.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

Mankind's spiritual sensibilities have been in decline since the Enlightenment as well as individual religious fervor.
This is the consequence of institutions such as the College of Cardinals shirking their duties in selecting the likes
of Frankie the Schmuck who is barely a Roman Catholic.

The Catholic Church doesn’t exactly have a great track record when it comes to matters of science.

Weren't they part of a get with the program, we know best, sort of organization?

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers,

disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection ...

Pelosi and Francis are more leaders and deciders than science nerds. Ya know proud
covetous boasters focusing on unholy power.

Scripture says, 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you're turning it into a gathering place for thieves!

The Lord works in mysterious ways. Pelosi being a huge thief, had to go!

@libertybele

You can't possibly be serious. Popes used to sell pardons to wealthy sinners that "guaranteed" they would go to heaven.

Local priests used to do similar things locally,like demanding titles to lands owned by nobility in exchange for land deeds.

Not to mention fun stuff like burning non-believers at the stake,or dumping them in pots of flaming oil.

It's hard to think of an organization that has done more evil than the Catholic Church.

@EdinVA

I understand that prayer and contributions of wealth are the winning combo,and if that didn't work for you,well,it is your fault because you weren't pious enough.

As a baptized Catholic and raised as a Catholic for years, that's a very hard pill to swallow.  I believe in the teachings of the Church and the Catholic Bible .... as far as what many clergy practice outside of the church I find despicable. I no longer attend Church, but I do hold my faith close to my heart.

The Catholic Church doesn’t exactly have a great track record when it comes to matters of science.
--------------------------------
Au contraire!!!
While the Ancients of Babylon & Greece discovered Science, the
Roman Catholic Church of the Scholastics (800-1500 AD)defined it.
The wisdom of Duns Scotus, Ockham and Aquinas, among dozens,
produced the intellectual blueprint for Scientific Learning including;
Goals/Truth and Understanding, Definitions, Activities, Assumptions,
Proscriptions and Motivations.
These guidelines exist to this day in all institutions of scientific learning.

It's hard to think of an organization that has done more evil than the Catholic Church.
-------------------------------------
Man is imperfect & mortal; as such he errs and falls continually.
Yet his redemption/salvation is possible thru embrace of the spiritual.
The assertion that no organization has done more evil than the Catholic
Church is an appallingly blasphemous slander, light centuries beyond stupid.
Anyone w/a solitary brain fragment is aware of this.

Uh-hun. Spooks and wizards,and all based on a fairy tale you have to teach to children while they are young because no sane adult would buy into it.

Of course,you can always prove me wrong by asking your boss to make a public appearance and work a few miracles while we watch.
