Well, the skin is detached from google, but the underlying code base appears to be based on chromium. The wikipedia page (take that for what it's worth) also states that Vivaldi appears to support many Chrome extensions, other than those relating to appearance.
Again, I apologize for being a bit of a pot-stirrer; it's in my nature, unfortunately.
I appreciate making distinctions.I was under the impression they were distinct products more than differing skins.The same guy/s wrote both codes.Would you prefer/recommend more of a separation?Would you suggest I switch browsers to my second choice, Brave, or something else?Thanks Al
