Hate to say this, but I agree with this POV.

The Americans inside Afghanistan knew FULL WELL that once Bagram AF Base was abandoned, they had just a couple of weeks at most to get to Kabul and to GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE!

Of course, there are exceptions, but there's no excuse in my mind why over 10K Americans are scattered across the country at this point in time.

Of course, there are exceptions, but there's no excuse in my mind why over 10K Americans are scattered across the country at this point in time.

You're correct.  They should have known better than to believe the sweet lies they were being emailed from the State Department.  Those of us at home in our living rooms knew about the lies, how could they not?

GOP Sen. Tillis: ‘We Played Right into the Taliban’s Hands’

Monday on Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) sounded off on the August 31 evacuation date set by President Joe Biden to get Americans out of Afghanistan.

Tillis called for an extension to that deadline, adding he thinks “we played right into the Taliban’s hands” by our failed attempt to withdraw. The North Carolina Republican said he does not see how it is possible to evacuate every American citizen and SIV holder by August 31.

“I think they probably anticipated where we would be at this point,” Tillis outlined. “And what they’re trying to shut down all of our humanitarian operations. And it will put countless lives at risk — not only the SIV holders, American citizens, but their families and their extended families.”

He continued, “I think we played right into the Taliban’s hands, and I think that we have to set the groundwork for extending it. There is no way you can do the math and think that you’re going to get the majority of the people who deserve to be out of that country, either in a safe third country or the United States, by [August 31]. And by the way, when we think about the 31, we think about August 31 in North Carolina, the United States. I’m guessing Taliban is thinking about eight and a half hours earlier, so minus a day from what we talk about here.”

I agree somewhat. But I don't know what restrictions, destination requirements and family emigrations might have had applied. And since the country had been "sort of" quiet for 20 years I could see a lot of contractors and missionaries blowing the warnings off.

That being said...when they said "get out"...I'd have put on my tennis shoes or crawled on my hands a knees to get to safe territory. (where ever in the ME might be).

Ok ... but how many actually knew that, that airbase was going to be abandoned and how long was it abandoned before the shictz hit the fan and the fall of Kabul??

What flights out were actually available?  How much notice (if any) was given to them??

Sorry, I just can't find any blame to put on Americans left over there.  Who in their right mind, knowing that things were going to go down would opt to stay behind?  Perhaps a few reporters but that's about it.

In mind mind Americans were scattered all over the country deliberately.

I gotta disagree.  Most of those folks are over there at the request of our government, security, intelligence, reconstruction etc.  If we, the US, asked/told them to go, then we owe them a way out.  They were likely never told of the situation, or what they were told was different that what we now know.

Amen! Regardless of what b.s. the Biden administration is trying to feed us, pictures being splashed on the news shows Americans being left behind, instructions to make it to the airport on their own and Afghani's being boarded on planes.
 
China Joe sent 7,000 troops over, why in the hell aren't they going in and escorting American out?  Yet numerous reports are coming in that the Brits and the French are getting Americans out.

This was planned to leave Americans behind and bring refugees in! 

Not ONE, American should be left behind and if 7,000 American troops can't get them out, then there's a huge problem!

Biden Ignores that Afghans are Being Processed in Texas, Wisconsin, Virginia

President Joe Biden is ignoring that thousands of Afghans are being processed in the United States, without having finalized their applications for visas, instead touting that processing begins in third safe countries outside of Afghanistan.

During a press briefing on Sunday, Biden noted that Afghans are being loaded up on planes and heading to nations like Qatar, Germany, Kuwait, and Spain for processing. An estimated 22,000, the Pentagon has said, will be resettled across the U.S.

“In order to keep a steady flow of planes taking off from Kabul, maximize our evacuation capacity, we have quickly set up an unprecedented global effort and established a series of processing stations in third countries,” Biden said:
