Newsom is trying to frame this recall election as outsiders interfering in good ol’ Californians affairs, instead of what it clearly is - grassroots disgust with his ineptitude. His pitching a fit was the way he was gonna make the narrative go viral.
The fix is probably already in. I fully expect the counting to stop for the evening with the governor behind and start up again bright and early with greasy Gavin in a commanding lead.
