Sophia Loren or Marilyn Monroe?
« on: August 01, 2021, 10:33:39 am »

At 75  years old, these two women hold a special place in what is today...my cold, dead heart.

For reasons I cannot properly articulate even, Sophia Loren had a completely different effect on me than Norma Jean.

One had me relaxed, peaceful...while the other one had every nerve on high alert.   LOL!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Happened to "like" a photo or two on my newsfeed, and now inundated with invites to join groups, etc..

If you could only choose one, which would it be?

The idea that somebody looked at a purple onion and called it a red onion really bothers me.

Ann Margret?

@Ann Margaret was smoking hot,but she wasn't Sophia.

If I were to meet Sophia in person and she just said my name,I would probably faint dead away from sudden blood loss.

And keep in mind that the man writing this has a kinky spot in his heart for redheads about the size of the universe.

BTW,I once was watching a tv show where the host was interviewing Tom Selleck, and asked him who he thought to be the sexist woman in the world. Without any hesitation at all,he said "Sophia Loren". He even went further by saying he lives near her in Beverly Hills, and drives past her house almost every day,and has told his wife that if he is driving past one day and Sophia Loren has a flat tire in front of her gate and he stops to fix her flat and she then invites him into the house for tea,"You are just going to have to give me that one because I am only human."

And you can believe that Tom Selleck has has some pretty nice offers in his life, yet Sophia Loren is the one he dreams about.

@I saw her up close when she came to the Dominican Republic during the uprising there with a USO show. Was right up at the front of the stage while she was dancing. Even got REALLY close to her dressing room before the GD MP's stopped me.

Didn't get into any trouble because I had stolen a USAF fatigue shirt off a clothes line so I could eat in the AF mess halls, and was wearing that. Told them I had lost my ID,so the MP's guarding her turned me over to the USAF AP's,and they didn't give a squat. In fact, they thought it was funny. So they just turned me loose. Didn't even take back the fatigue shirt.

Yes,I was an adventurous 18 year old.

Sophia. Not even close.

When she was young and in her prime, Sophia Lauren was hotter than the hinges on the gates of Hell.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. Very strange...the difference in the many photos of Marilyn Monroe.

Here she appear like a DD.  I many iconic pics she sure as hell is not!

From a female perspective and growing up watching them I always thought Sophia Loren was absolutely gorgeous.  Marilyn...meh...too much hype and as a young lady watching her I thought she was a bit trashy.

As a female adult I have the same opinion.  My vote is for Sophia Loren.

The blonde in that photo isn't Marilyn. It's another blonde bombshell from that time whose name I can't remember at the moment, but I do remember she died in an auto accident when her husband ran his Caddy convertible up under the rear of the trailer of an 18 wheeler, cutting her head off. There are photos of this accident all over the web if you can remember her name and care to look.

You're thinking of Jayne Mansfield and her husband Mickey Hargitay.

But that photo is definitely Marilyn Monroe.

Trivia note..the lead female actress on Law and Order SVU is their daughter and had a facial scar from the accident.

That is all...I don't have an opinion on who was more beautiful. Different types of beauty imho...but since I'm a female what do I know?

I do find the answers interesting. Sort of like a Marianne/Ginger thread.

My body.  There is a nude picture of her, arm up, reposed, arched back.....looks like my body.  These men did NOT see me nude.  They could tell, even with clothes on! So, I would have to say M.M.  Even my personality, although, you can't tell with my posts!
I was very shy, quiet.  At a party, I could find a spot, sit down, away from all the hoopla...and little by little, I would be surrounded by men.  Another man, pointed that out to me. Wherever I was,  soon, I was surrounded by men.   YOUNG...was fun.  Yes, I was a ....DD. All natural.

AllThatJazzZ, no idea who the actress is, but she is somewhat familiar.

Now to the discussion of Marilyn versus Sophia, no contest.  Sophia was a goddess, and Marilyn had her moments, but she was never in Sophia's league.

And Natalie Woods, Jayne Mansfield, and Jazz's mystery woman, minor league stuff.  Really.  The one thing Woods, Monroe, Mansfield all had in common, they got themselves dead at a young age.  Wreckless, not possessing the grace to appreciate what God gave them, and all dead.

Ann Margaret was a true beauty too.  But again, not in Sophia's class of woman.

Another thing that turns me on immensely is a woman with a sexy accent. Sophia was superior in that regard too.

Ahhhh, that accent and those eyes and lips! If she were to look me in the eye and just say my name,I would faint dead away from sudden blood loss.Hell, just looking into those eyes and seeing her smile would be enough to do it. Saying my name might result in the rescue squad showing up.

I was going on sixteen, when the bulletin came over the car radio.  It was a weekend morning, but don't recall if it was Saturday or Sunday.

We were headed to my aunt and uncle's farm in Albion, New York.

Found nude on her bed.

I believe that to be true.  I think she was 36?  So we have no pictures of her as an aged woman. The fantasy can continue.
Any pictures of an older Sophia?

@corbe

Not true. They are management. Most likely they got some of their mob pals to do it for them.

LBJ probably had her killed expecting it to implicate John and Bobby, when that didn't work he decided to just get to the root of the problem and solve it once and for all. :thud:

I was going on sixteen, when the bulletin came over the car radio.  It was a weekend morning, but don't recall if it was Saturday or Sunday.

We were headed to my aunt and uncle's farm in Albion, New York.

Found nude on her bed.

.......,and there stood Sophia!

Sadly, the shock woke me up for only an instant before the sudden blood loss to the brain put me under again.

Sophia Loren ... she's still alive.  Marilyn Monrore is worm food.
