US air force targets Taliban position in northern Afghanistan, media reports

KABUL: Some Western media outlets report that the United States military had pounded by drone attacks Friday just hours before President Ghani’s meeting with his American counterpart Joe Biden in the White House.
The Fox News has cited officials in the Pentagon, saying that the US army had launched two drone strikes on the insurgent position in the northern provinces of Afghanistan, where Taliban have recently had worrying advances, taking control of several districts in the provinces of Badakhshan, Takhar, Kunduz and Baghlan.
