A Texas House of Representatives committee is holding a hearing to discuss several bills that could impact the Texas high-speed rail project.
The company Texas Central plans to build a high-speed rail from Houston to Dallas, which would run through the Brazos Valley. Specifically, the Texas Central rail would place a station in Grimes County.
The public hearing of the Land & Resource Management committee begins at 8 a.m. Monday, March 30. The hearing will likely last all day.
The committee will be hearing testimony on the following bills:
HB 1200: Relating to clarification of the law regarding the regulation of historic or culturally significant structures, objects, sites, or districts by certain municipalities.
HB 3312: Relating to the disposition of real property acquired for high-speed rail projects.
HB 3633: Relating to establishing a High-Speed Rail Legislative Review Committee; authorizing a fee.
HB 2041: Relating to the disclosure of appraisal reports in connection with the use of eminent domain authority.
