Once considered a pipe dream in liberal California, a recall campaign to oust Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is nearing its required threshold to qualify for a ballot.

For that to happen, recall organizers must obtain 1.5 million signatures by March 17. As of Tuesday, Jan. 26, petitioners have gathered 1.2 million signatures, according to Recall Gavin, one of two groups organizing the effort.

If 1.5M signatures is the statutory threshold then less than 2.25M (or more) will fall short. Signatures are actually checked and this has been the pattern for decades.

I hope they don't get enough to recall, and CA gets the full blow of the disease of socialism.

Maybe they will think again when pulling the electoral lever.

With some 7 or 8 weeks to go for signature gathering I think the chances of qualifying the recall in the 40%-60 range. If it qualifies I have no clue on whether Noisome would get the boot. I thought Davis the Gray would survive his recall (and given the conservative-stabbing hyper-RINO that Ahhhnold was ... I voted for Tom McClintock).

1. I have not voted for a Dem in decades. I think, vote accordingly, but do not get what I voted for. Please put the simplistic stereotypes on a distant dusty shelf.

Gray was an absolute disaster and the closest thing to a Biden I can recall seeing.

i wouldn't be in the least surprised that if the recall petition succeeds we see Ahnold the Putzinater campaign for Newsom. He really doesn't even try to hide where his true allegiance is anymore.

I think you forgot the important part about that last.

When it became clear that the Rodents weren't going to be able to keep Gray Davis in office, they made sure that one, and only one, Rodent was on the ballot, Bustamante, and the Rodents made sure that OVER 200 candidates signed up on the GOP side of the ticket...

...and Bustamante was such a nasty candidate that Schwareznegger won the governorship as a RINO Republican anyway...thereby destroying the GOP in California.

Expect similar games this time around.   

I for one won't sign this petition.  The Rodents want one-party rule, they have one-party rule, in CA and the USA.  Swapping out one Rodent for another won't change the problem of one-party rule so why bother?   The California of 2021 doesn't have a GOP strong enough to eject Governor Nuisance AND replace him with a Republican, anyway.


For full disclosure I regret voting for Schwarzenegger, I should have followed my first instinct and voted for McClintock...who turned out recently to show off his new anti-Trump RINO clothes....this is the only vote in my life that I've regretted.
