Dr. Fauci Says China Played Role in COVID-19 Spread

The head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that a lack of openness by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials regarding the novel coronavirus’ transmission and their blocking of top U.S. scientists from going to Wuhan to investigate the virus contributed to the rapid spread of the CCP virus.

“Back then, the lack of full appreciation of the seriousness of what we were dealing in, was [due to] a number of reasons,” Fauci told Axios recently. “Some things were absolutely not known by anybody. And, some things were known by the Chinese and they weren’t very transparent about it.”

In addition, Fauci said the late reporting on the person-to-person and asymptomatic transmission of the virus also contributed to the spread. Fauci was clear that if U.S. officials had been aware of the asymptomatic spread, it would have changed the guidance on masks, social distancing, and contact tracing early on.

“You don’t know everything you need to know the first day,” Fauci said.

China withheld news of the Wuhan outbreak from early December through when it was finally LEAKED on December 31st!

China withheld the DNA sequence of the virus from December 30th until it was LEAKED on January 10th!

China knew there was evidence of human-human transmission by December 25th but lied to the world until January 20th.

China's lies, deception, and action were primary causes of the spread of Covid and the world's less than swift response. But for the Trump Administration's (in which Fauci probably played some part) swift leveraging of existing relationships with companies like Moderna, AbCellera, and Regeneron (and probably many more), we would probably be at least 3-6 months behind where we are.

Remember how the MSM mocked Trump goal announced in May of having 20 million doses of vaccine distributed by the end of 2020? Despite the FDA moving goalposts and dawdling in approving the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, as of 9 AM this morning (1/7) 21.4 million doses have been distributed to the states. Trump's goal was missed by just 6 days. IIRC, if just Pfizer and Moderna meet their contract dates, 400 million doses of their vaccines will have been distributed in the US and US territories by the end of July 2021.

Sadly, many/most states have - despite being advised in early September to be prepared - given less than 6 million people their first dose. Yesterday was a big day for vaccinations, 600K .
