ATLANTA — Coca-Cola is slimming down, canning 200 drink brands from its portfolio, the beverage giant said Thursday.

The announcement comes on the heels of Coca-Cola discontinuing several outdated brands, including Tab, ZICO coconut water and juice-smoothie brand Odwalla, CNN reported.  ...

In the United States, the company entered into an agreement with Molson Coors Beverage Company to manufacture, market and distribute the product. So long as they don't mess with Cherry Coke... Half the redneck gals I know would go out of their minds... The other half drink Dr. Pepper  :shrug:

Same up in here... Women anyway... Gents not so much. I went a while on Pepsi and Mountain Dew, but wound up back in sweet tea like I should have never left.

Even yet though... its a 'get to know you' question... "Which one: Cherry Coke or Dr. Pepper?" One or the other is fine... Or sweet tea of course... Donna, one of my near missus... I knew she was claiming ground when a cold pack of Dr. Pepper began to reside in my fridge.

It's a thing, for sure.

I found it interesting that Coke is phasing out some of its soft drinks but getting into the hard seltzer market. Makes sense, as the shamdemic has turned so many people into heavy drinkers.  :laugh:

Yoohoo always brings to mind a hot summer evening in Kansas, sitting on the rough concrete curb of my uncle Paul's general store, just as the lightning bugs were coming out... Every time I take that first gulp of an ice cold Yoohoo, I am right back there in an instant... I can smell the hot dirt and feel the gravel under my toes...

Needless to say, I still have one every now and then... They are rare up here. every year or two I see one, and I can't help myself.

Tab was my first diet beverage.  I was 13 or 14 and going to an orthodontist in a building that had a coffee shop on the ground floor.  At that time saccharin was the only artificial sweetener around and Tab of course contained saccharin.  Tab tasted good going down the gullet, but for hours afterwards it kept coming back and it didn't taste so good the second or third time around. 

Anyway, no more Tab for me.  Of course, later other sweeteners came along that were more digestible.  But eventually, I got away from diet soda and later soda in general.  I'd rather have water or tea.

My parents fed me that "The Astronaunts Drink It"  line back in the '60's.  Still didn't hide the fact the stuff tasted awful.
