Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla warned on Tuesday that people who don’t take the Covid-19 vaccine will become a “weak link” that allows the coronavirus to spread.  .  .  .

.  .  .  But he also said people who decide against taking the vaccine once available “will not only affect their lives.”

They “will affect the lives of others because if they don’t vaccinate, they will become the weak link that will allow this virus to replicate,” he told NBC’s “TODAY.”  .  .  .

Whether stated elegantly or inelegantly, his comment is correct. The 2014-2015 measles outbreak in Disneyland illustrates, https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm6406a5.htm . One person carrying the disease exposed quite a few people while at MouseLand, some of whom had not been vaccinated. They then brought it to their homes in several states. Whether "herd immunity" is low because people have declined to be vaccinated or a vaccine is not yet approved and in distribution, that is what happens. If you think his statement of this truth is too self-serving but you still want to be vaccinated, seek out the AstraZeneca or Moderna vaccines (one or both of which are likely to be approved before the Pfizer vaccine).
