New study suggests coronavirus antibodies last longer than thought, promising news in vaccine search

The antibodies that humans make to fight the coronavirus last for at least four months after they test positive and stay in their system longer than earlier reports suggested, according to a new study in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The report was published Tuesday and is based on tests from more than 30,000 people in Iceland. It is the most extensive work yet on the immune system’s response to the virus over time, according to the Associated Press.

This at least suggests that antibodies produced by vaccines will also last longer than first thought. And tests of the vaccines farthest ahead in the testing process show the vaccines also produce T-cell response, T-cells being the immune system's long-term memory components.

Good Media Healine Decoder Ring usage. Mine says "Media shills".

I never understood why common vaccines such as for measles, mumps, and rubella are known to be good for years or decades, but vaccines for this corona virus were thought likely to be only good for a few months. I'd be happy to see a better explanation, but the only explanations my non-medical brain come up with are ignorance and Hate-Trumpism, the same source as the HCQ-bashing.
