Illinois police arrested a teenager on Wednesday after two people were fatally shot during a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wis., in response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
The criminal complaint for the teenager said he was charged with first degree intentional homicide in Antioch, Ill., Commander Norman Johnson of the Antioch Police Department confirmed to The Associated Press.
Antioch is about 15 miles away from Kenosha, a city that has seen three nights of demonstrations after Blake, a Black man, was shot by police.
Two people were killed and another injured in a shooting at Tuesday’s protests at about midnight.
Video shows Blake being shot in the back by officers who trail him as he walks around an SUV and opens a door. Blake's children were in the back of the SUV.
Blake is recuperating in a hospital. His father on Tuesday said Blake was at least temporarily paralyzed from the waist down because of his injuries.
