Joe Biden is dithering. He was supposed to tap his running mate the first week of August, but has now postponed the announcement to Aug. 10. It’s the first consequential decision of his campaign, one that could determine whether he wins or loses in November, and he’s blowing it.

The extension, and the ongoing uncertainty it suggests, casts Biden as wobbly.

It also reduces any zip that the eventual announcement might have. It’s not a great beginning for a candidate constantly tweeting that the country needs “strong leadership.”

Granted, that’s a lot to read from a one-week delay. But, after all, we don’t know much about Biden 2020’s governing style or how he makes decisions. He has held but few give-and-takes with the press in recent months – most notably declining to be interviewed by the New York Times or Fox News’ Chris Wallace, or anyone else who might actually ask some tough questions.

Here’s what we do know:  almost certainly Biden will pick a woman of color; he has no choice. He owes his nomination to black voters, and they have demanded a seat at the table.

The short list of potential running mates now includes Sen. Kamala Harris, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice, California Rep. Karen Bass, who leads the Congressional Black Caucus, Florida Rep. Val Demings and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

The smart, brilliant pick would be Val Demings.  This being Biden, I think he'll cop the stupid pick of Kamala Harris, possibly the least likeable pol I've encountered in 20 years.

Of the group, his best choice to help him get elected is Val Demmings.  She'd give him 537 votes in Florida that he might not otherwise get.  The one I fear is Michelle.  I don't think Oprah has the stomach for it but what the heck do I know.

She knows world leaders - what is happening with the world, can help Biden with foreign policy.

I looked up her background some days ago - she is very smart and businesslike.
She grew up in Washington, D.C., and lives with family there.

Due to the info. I just wrote, he will likely choose someone else.

She also participated in the cover-up of the Benghazi attack..going on all the talk shows blaming a poor man who made a video of Islam..he was sent to prison and is now a homeless person..

I will never forget these men.



And just today she praised Bowe Bergdahl “served the United States with honor and distinction.”

Who is also responsible for the deaths of several GI's who searched for him when he deserted.

Then put each one on the ballot in the areas of the country where people would vote for "her".

Rice in the NE. Demmings in the SE. Harris on the left coast, etc.

He needs to pick someone that will boost his Electoral prospects.  Rice, DC, no; Harris, CA, no; Bass, CA, no; Warren, MA, no; Lance Bottoms, maybe; Demmings, yes; Mike O, DC, no; Witmer, MI, hell no!!!!

Logical choice  -  Demmings............most likely  -  Harris

Harris was one of the first people to come to the defense of Jessie Smollett.  No sense whatsoever.  And that nasal voice, heck there is surgery to fix that crap.  She would have Dems staying at home.  If she were an attractive prospect, she would have done better in the Dem primary.  She stinks!!!!
