President Trump on Thursday offered to pay for the funeral of a soldier found dead after disappearing in April from Fort Hood — and said he’s paid for other funerals for troops.

Trump made the offer while hosting the family of Vanessa Guillen, who was 20, in the Oval Office. A male soldier suspected of killing Guillen near the Texas base committed suicide, the Army has said.

In response to a reporter’s question, Trump said he’s paid for other soldiers’ funerals.

“I have, I have. I have to do it personally, I can’t do it through government,” Trump said. “I have because some families need help. They need help.”

Guillen’s family declined a military funeral, and are awaiting the return of her remains, which Trump said he would help expedite.

President Trump offers to personally pay for funeral of murdered soldier Vanessa Guillen

President Donald Trump hosted the family of murdered Army Specialist Vanessa Guillen in the Oval Office on Thursday, where he offered to personally pay for the slain soldier's funeral.

The president also said it would not be the first time he has covered such expenses following the death of a service member.

Guillen, 20, went missing from Fort Hood in Texas in April, and her body was found more than two months later in a shallow grave. A fellow soldier suspected of killing her committed suicide as investigators closed in to arrest him, and the victim's family says she was sexually harassed prior to her murder but did not report it out of fear of retaliation.

Fox News reported that the president invited the Guillen family to the White House to share their story, and said during the meeting that he did not want what happened to Guillen to be "swept under the rug."............

Media blasted him for this show of compassion.  BTW. It was sexual harassment, when, the black solider used a hammer to beat her to death with, then used a machete to cut up her body & tried to set it on fire, with the help of his girlfriend.
This is violence against an hispanic woman soldier & it blows the narrative of B.L. M.   How their lives matter. ONLY.
