Something hasn't been said here, so I'll say it:
Current tactics by the feds and National Guard will help things, only so long as they continue.
Once they stop and withdraw from the area, matters will go right back to where they were before.

This is because those at the highest levels of city government -- the mayor, the chief of police, the city council -- will still be there, and still be on the side of the lawless and antifa.

If more permanent change is to be enacted, then the existing civilian government must be REMOVED, and replaced. The replacements can be either civilian or military, but, if civilian you must remember that the majority of Portlandians probably support the status quo. So... what to do?

The answer is a military government, something a la Reconstruction after the War For Southern Independence.

Otherwise, what we see going on now will be only a short interlude...

This has been going on now for a couple of years...I imagine anyone that is fed up has already left the area...they are getting no help from the mayor or governor...they both condone this behavior which I don't understand.

Calls are likely fielded by one of those call management systems that says "if you know the extension, please enter it now, otherwise choose from the following menu..."
Which gives those in the circle a way to get through, otherwise, a interminable machine non-response.

It's obvious the management there is either actively in cahoots with the protesters, has been bought off by Leftist concerns, or simply doesn't care to or have the gonads to stand up to the 'protesters'. They have painted themselves into that corner, and hopefully, Portland has an 'underground' circulating opinions, grievances, no-spin news, etc. for the next election.

Not that it will make much difference.

We look hard for fraud in contested races, but seldom look for fraud in local and even State races where the area is considered 'Blue'. It could be so rampant that the Left stays in power despite the people wanting something else. Or it could be legitimately a Leftist sh*tshow because that's what the people there want.

In the lawsuit against the President and U.S. government brought by the State of Oregon to stop troops from being sent to protect federal property, one of their exhibits sent to the court inadvertently reveals that Antifa have been coercing homeless people to join in rioting.

This is something I witnessed in 2020. They were given food and supplies as a reward for throwing rocks or explosives at the federal building in downtown Portland.

@PortlandPolice Sgt. John Edwards wrote that the officer in charge of the area outside the ICE facility in early September documented that one elderly homeless man pleaded with police if he could pretend to rattle the gates at ICE so that Antifa would leave him and other homeless people alone.

Antifa groom homeless people to riot because it is of no consequence to them or their organized networks if those individuals are prosecuted.

The evidence also discusses violent Portland Antifa member Tracy Molina @KohzKah, who has repeatedly targeted me and was arrested around eight times in 2020 but never held accountable. So where does this commie judge think that she has the authority to issue such a broad interstate order against the Executive Branch exercising its legal military authority.  Under this reasoning, Eisenhower and Kennedy could not have sent in the National Guard and federal troops to end segregation at Southern schools in the 1950s and 1960s. 

Newsome alweady lost this argument at the 9th Circruit Court of Appeals anyway.

In late September, President Donald Trump ordered the Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to deploy National Guard troops to Portland to protect the Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in the city. This ICE facility and its employees have been under siege, suffering a years-long campaign of violence by Antifa and other left-wing radical groups, and the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) has done little to quell the rabid unrest or to arrest and prosecute those facilitating it. However, PPB will allow conservative independent journalists who have documented this violence to be harassed, assaulted, and even arrested.
 
On Friday, Assistant Attorney General of the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon also took action related to the happenings in Portland, informing the PPB that their policies and practices were now under investigation. This is in the wake of this week's violence, which left independent journalist Katie Daviscourt with a black eye from being battered with a flagpole, unprovoked, by one leftist, and fellow conservative journalist Nick Sortor being arrested by PPB after he tried to protect himself while being attacked.

I've said this before (as far back as 2020) and I'm gonna repeat it:

The only way that cities like Portland and Seattle -- and perhaps entire states such as Oregon and Washington -- will be "brought back into the fold" is by a military occupational force which will remove the civilian governments, and replace them with military rulers until such time when the civilian governments can be "Reconstructed" and then returned to the people.

The left must be physically removed from power.
This includes many of those teaching in the leftist-dominated public schools and in higher education, as well.

Shy of this, there ain't gonna be any other way.

Instruct me as to where my reasoning is wrong.
