A lawsuit filed in federal court on Monday accuses Fox News superstars Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity of sexual harassment.

Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (SDNY), the 39-page complaint contains a trigger warning at the top (in red type, nonetheless) and documents a sweeping set of allegations against the conservative-leaning network’s top talent and against the network itself.

According to the complaint filed by attorney Douglas Wigdor on behalf of Jennifer Eckhart and Cathy Areu, Fox News repeatedly supported and promoted former anchor Ed Henry “despite the fact” that the network “was well aware of Mr. Henry’s inappropriate sexual misconduct.”

The lawsuit also alleges retaliation against Eckhart after she came forward.

“Fox News was trying to avoid taking accountability for what actually happened; namely, that one of its most prominent on-air personalities — with a history of multiple sexual harassment complaints — sexually assaulted and raped Ms. Eckhart,” a press release obtained by Law&Crime alleges.

“As for Ms. Areu,” the complaint and press releases claims, “Henry sent her [a] myriad [of] wildly inappropriate, disturbing and sadistic sexual images and videos and repeatedly suggested that he would help her obtain an anchor position with Fox News if she engaged in sexual acts with him.”

“In addition, Ms. Areu was sexually harassed by multiple other men at Fox News, including Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Howard Kurtz and Gianno Caldwell,” the plaintiffs and their attorney say.

In reading the article and the instances of sexual harassment that they are claiming seems pretty weak to me, or am I missing something here, other than Carlson and Hannity work for FOX?  I'm not so sure it is trying to destroy supporters of Trump as much as it is needing to destroy FOX and the conservative voices on FOX.

Just looking back, Beck claimed that this would come to light until not one conservative voice would be left on the air, that is one reason why he started his own network and show.  O'Reilly who was dismissed from Fox because of accusations of sexual harassment is often a guest on his program.

We can reserve judgment on the sexual harassment claims that spilled out Monday night against several current and former men of Fox News, but let's quickly look at the accusation lobbed at Tucker Carlson and decide now that it's shockingly goofy.

I was wondering just a couple weeks ago how long it would be before Carlson got #MeToo'd. Here's the answer.

Cathy Areu, whom I have seen on TV before but whose credentials I know nothing about (though her Twitter bio says she hosts a podcast), says in a new lawsuit that she was sexually harassed by multiple men at Fox News, including primetime hosts Carlson and Sean Hannity.

Areu was not an employee at Fox and was not under contract, but her lawsuit asserts that she basically functioned as one, given that she was frequently booked as a guest. (How's that for a new definition of "employee"? Google News often links to my work so I guess that makes me more or less staff at the Silicon Valley tech giant.)

A co-plaintiff, Cathy Areu, a frequent guest on Fox News programs, alleged in the lawsuit that Mr. Henry had harassed her, as well, by sending sexually explicit messages. Ms. Areu also described exchanges with other Fox News stars, including the anchors Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Howard Kurtz, that she called inappropriate and sexually charged.

Fox News, in a statement, said that it had retained an outside law firm to investigate Ms. Areu’s claims and determined them to be “false, patently frivolous and utterly devoid of any merit.” Fox News issued the statement on behalf of the network as well as Mr. Carlson, Mr. Hannity and Mr. Kurtz, who were also named as defendants in the suit.

The network did not challenge Ms. Eckhart’s allegations against Mr. Henry, noting: “Fox News already took swift action as soon as it learned of Ms. Eckhart’s claims on June 25 and Mr. Henry is no longer employed by the network.”

I’ve done more reporting on the Fox News lawsuit since last night’s thread. Areu’s lawyer admitted they got the dates wrong. Now he says the alleged incident occurred before the Tucker Carlson Tonight Christmas party. But Tucker’s wife attended that party
