The NBA is reportedly mulling the idea of allowing players to put social justice slogans on the backs of their jerseys.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Chris Paul, president of the National Basketball Players Association, recently said that the players are working with the league to change the jersey policy to include any cause or issue an individual player is looking to promote, ESPN reported.

Slogans could include “Black Lives Matter,” or “I Can’t Breathe,” or other sayings and slogans for the causes in which players want to appear involved.

“We’re just trying to continue to shed light on the different social justice issues that guys around our league continue to talk about day in and day out,” Paul told ESPN. “People are saying that social justice will be off of everybody’s mind in Orlando. With these jerseys, it doesn’t go away.”

Paul added that players would not be pressured to add social justice slogans to their jerseys, but they will be confronted with a range of options from which to choose.

I now have absolutely no interest in the NFL, MLB or the NBA. Never did have any interest in soccer or NASCAR, so that's no great loss.
As long as most golfers refrain from acting like idiots, I'll still have the PGA and LPGA - but don't test me.

Well, the NBA is going to allow "Only Black Lives Matter" to be painted on the courts, so anything else is just doilies on the table.  Personally, I've been gone from NBA for a couple decades, since I found out they are Okie Dokie with Refs who accept bribes during playoff games.

We have witnessed the death of professional sports on a sane level in just a few short years.

It doesn't help that the NBA is in bed with China and conveniently overlooks every single human rights abuse committed by that regime.

What about "Make America Great Again"?  Will the NBA allow that slogan?
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

Sadly at one point things like baseball and football were a reconciliatory thread and topic among the worst of political rivals.  We could be bitter rivals politically, but at a game, at a bar, or even at home we could click glasses in a toast to our favorite teams.

SJW terrorists have now destroyed that too.  And that's a shame.

If I didn’t know any better I’d think they’re deliberately trying to divide us, drive a wedge between the races. Nah, what am I thinking? White people have this coming and should just STFU and take it. /s

I will continue to watch college or high school sports once in a while until the so shrill just us fervor wears off. If It doesn't, no biggie. I have other places to spend my money and time.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I thought that too, but what do you want to bet that the colleges and high schools will go full SJW mode along with the pros?
I'm cancelling my subscription to NBA League Pass after ten years of watching hundreds of games annually as well as what was on cable tv.
And if, as I suspect they will, my favorite college team does this crap, I'm done with them as well. I'll be damned if I'm going to watch  BLM messages during games. Screw all of them.

I agree wholeheartedly. If that crap trickles down, I won't be standing there to see it.

Many high schools and colleges already have gone SJW. The heck with them, too.

Really time to do our best to let our $ speak for our positions.

Level of SJW bullshit factor sure influences my spending.

I agree.
MLB and the NFL were diversions for me.
I chance to escape politics for a while.
No more.
NBA got boring to me a while ago, all 3-pointers.
I would watch F1, Indy, and NASCAR, racing in general, when nothing else was on.
NASCAR?
Not anymore.
