The drug, dexamethasone, reduced death rates by a third for patients on ventilators, and by a fifth for patients needing oxygen.

The results have been published from the Recovery trial which is assessing a number of different possible COVID-19 treatments.

Good news, but a 20-30% lethality reduction is hardly what I would call a "major breakthrough."  Every little bit helps I guess. 

Wall Street seems to like the news too.  DJIA futures up 800 pts on this announcement.

Every weapon in the arsenal helps. We're all seeing deaths become less and less frequent even as American diagnosed cases stay flat (go up even outside the northeast). That will be far more effective in restoring normality than trying to sustain a lockdown.
