Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll believes there’s a team doing their due diligence on potentially signing Colin Kaepernick.

According to Joe Fann, Carroll told reporters Thursday that he took a call from a franchise about Kaepernick, and that “someone is interested.”

Carroll famously brought the former 49ers quarterback in for a 2017 visit, and Kaep has been thrust back into the news thanks to new debates about the national anthem.

Damn, are you all ready to buckle up? If Kaepernick gets a contract offer from an NFL team, then things are going to get wild.

Now, that’s not to say that’s what will happen, but NFL teams don’t make phone calls unless they’re interested.

That’s the nature of the beast.

People soon forget that in '19 an open practice for specifically created for Kaepernick, attended by scouts from most NFL teams.  This was a pandered, appeasment event to shut the SJW goons up.  His results were piss poor, and rightfully no NFL team signed him.

There are 96 NFL QB's at all times, and he obviously is at the maximum 97th best.    Just as he was cut earlier, he just didn't pass the mustard.

OTOH, in the newly doubly woke NFL, there might be an affirmitive action spot on some team chosen as a sucker.

Some exceedingly woke team is more than welcome to sign him and even make him a starter. And the team will absolutely stink. He wasn't good in his last year of playing, and he's had at least three years away from the sport. Good luck with all that. Don't care.

The last thing in the world this mediocrity wants now is to play football. I suspect he's more than happy with the money the Chicoms are funneling him through Nike.

Roger Goodell is encouraging NFL teams to sign Colin Kaepernick
The Right Scoop

The new woke version of Roger Goodell is now encouraging a team to sign Colin Kaepernick, saying he both supports and welcomes it:
Quote
NY POST – NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he would support and encourage a team willing to sign quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who settled a collusion lawsuit against the league over claims teams were working together to keep him away because of his kneeling during the national anthem in 2016. ...
... So where might we see Kaepernick next? If no team signs him, and given the direction woke Goodell is going these days, it wouldn’t surprise me if he were invited on the field during the Superbowl national anthem to kneel for George Floyd. That just seems to fit with where everything is headed these days.

I'll bet $20 the Cards will pick him up.  They specialize in has-beens and never-weres.

Any owner should ask what about fans, and their other players?

Is all of that risk worth is for a mediocre player?

I wouldn't put it past the now very "woke" NFL and idiot commish Goodell to offer some team extra money for signing and/or playing Kaepernick.

Funny thing about that:  While Kaeperhead didn't get any offers, one of the receivers he practiced with did.

Former NFL Player Burgess Owens on Kaepernick: ‘We’re Looking at Approving Affirmative Action for a Marxist
Warner Todd Huston
22 Jun 2020
Quote
Former New York Jets safety Burgess Owens recently slammed the NFL for looking to implement “affirmative action for a Marxist,” by encouraging teams to sign Colin Kaepernick.

As a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Kaepernick prominently started protesting against the country during the playing of the national anthem in 2016 but found himself left unsigned by any NFL team the following year when he turned free agent. Despite not playing since 2017, this year, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has begun saying that the NFL needs to work with Kaepernick to guide the league’s spending on social justice issues. ...

... “I am disappointed that so many people are acquiescing today. They don’t understand the American way; they don’t understand the price paid. They need to understand that we can’t be bullied and [also] that we’re not an evil country. There is no other country in the world with the mixing of races and tolerance. We have to change the current narrative.”

“If it was a meritocracy he would be out there anyway; he would work hard; he would prove himself,” Owens added. “He wouldn’t be taking someone else’s position. We’re looking at Affirmative Action for a Marxist. We’re approving their ideology.

“If we’re going that route, we should also ask Tim Tebow to come back,” Owens said. “It doesn’t matter how long he’s been out of the game. It doesn’t matter his talent. He was a Christian who kneeled in prayer and was a positive on his team. The reason why Tim Tebow, as talented as he was with the Denver Broncos — the NFL didn’t like his essence. They thought he was too distracting … too distracting to his team and the organization.”  ...
