Dr. Bronner’s soap company donates $1 million to Oregon effort to legalize psychedelic mushrooms

Dr. Bronner’s, known for its all-in-one soap, has made a second large donation to Oregon’s effort to legalize psilocybin.

Psilocybin Service Initiative, or Initiative Petition #34, would legalize psychedelic mushrooms in a controlled setting.

The soap company donated $150,000 to the campaign in September.

The petition is spearheaded by Sheri and Thomas Eckert, who have worked to legalize psilocybin for years. In 2017, the couple, counselors from Beaverton, told The Oregonian/OregonLive that they believe psychedelic mushrooms can help people struggling with issues from depression to anxiety to addiction. ...
