Report: NBA players to begin taking significant pay cut May 15

Grey Papke, Larry Brown Sports 3 hrs ago

NBA players will be giving up some salary starting in mid-May as the coronavirus pandemic continues to ensure that no games are played.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the NBA and NBPA have agreed a deal that will see players give up 25% of their salary starting with their May 15 paychecks.

This has been an ongoing subject of negotiations, and in this round, it looks like the NBPA got what it wanted. This was their original request, while the NBA was seeking a far more aggressive plan. Players could give up even more money if regular-season games are canceled, but that has not happened yet.
