Cuomo says 'worst is over' as NY deaths cross 10,000

More than 10,000 people have died from COVID-19 in New York, but Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) said on Monday that "the worst is over."

During his daily press briefing, Cuomo said the state has controlled the spread of the virus but warned that could change if people let up on social distancing too soon.

"The worst is over ... if we continue to be smart going forward," Cuomo said. "Remember, we have the hand on that valve. You turn that valve too fast, you'll see that number jump right back."

Cuomo said he will be making an announcement on a regional "reopening plan" later this afternoon with governors of Delaware, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

Because if he reopens too soon and kickstarts another wave of the Virus, this will be strung out to the election.

His sudden concern for states he has blocked from pipelines for natural gas and other benefits of being in the union, trying to assemble a fiefdom in the NE, indicates to me he has every intent of taking the nomination away from Biden.

They just added in 3700 idiopathic deaths (no test), and are calling this the peak, when in reality, the number is an artifact.

If he jumps the gun, it could lead to another wave of infection.

If that happens, it's pretty simple to see how the MSM and Democrats will make political hay of that, and aim it all at POTUS, who has been ensured the decision is not his.

Which begs the question of whether the unpopular assertion that he had control, now refuted soundly by all, wasn't a way to ensure that POTUS could not be blamed for the actions of the respective governors and the outcomes thereof.
