And that (elderly) was priority 1 in the UK....
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

@rustynail

So  what? They might also die from the excitement of watching "Dick Van Dyke Show" reruns.

Dying is what old people do second-best.

Whining is what they do best.

COVID was the necessary excuse to push for mail-in ballots.

It's the excuse for lockdowns that bankrupt the middle class.

It's the excuse for vaccines that help track & trace people.

'A slap in the face': Yuma hospital fires ER doctor for talking about COVID-19 in Arizona

Quote
Jamie Landers, Arizona Republic 7 hrs ago

Dr. Cleavon Gilman, a well-known emergency-medicine physician, has been asked not to return to his work at Yuma Regional Medical Center for his social media posts about the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic in Arizona, according to him and his staffing agency.
a man wearing a hat: Dr. Cleavon Gilman works at Yuma Regional Medical Center and said he was told on Nov. 22 no hospital in the state was accepting transfer ICU patients. © Courtesy Dr. Cleavon Gilman Dr. Cleavon Gilman works at Yuma Regional Medical Center and said he was told on Nov. 22 no hospital in the state was accepting transfer ICU patients.

. . .

It started on Nov. 22 when Gilman tweeted "Just got to work and was notified there are no more ICU beds in the state of Arizona."

"What happened to the 175 beds??? We likely don’t have nursing to staff them," he added. The Arizona Department of Health Services at the time reported that 90% of ICU beds were in use.

The hospital he was working in Yuma removed 175 beds from the ICU, so they could claim "We're at our capacity!  Any more patients and they're going to all DIE!!!"   ***hair on fire

This is going on all over the state!

It's going on all over the country.

Now that the data skewing of the cases and death numbers have run their course, it's time to skew new sets of numbers, now it's "Hospital Capacity."  Want a higher percentage of ICU capacity?  Reduce the number of hospital beds.  175 is a pretty significant number for that hospital.

I wonder where all the Striker Beds are piled up?

Basement storage...near the oxygen plant.  Either that or they have just shut down the wings where those beds are at.

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I don’t know if this has been posted, but it’s an interesting chart to figure out where you might be in line for the vaccine in your state and in the country.

I never really cared for the Times' editorial stuff but their interactive content is among the best in the business.

As I suspected, I'll be one of the last to become eligible—which is nice because then I can sit back and watch the rollout to see any side effects develop before I make my decision. As of now, I'm open to it but that could change. But then again, herd immunity might be achieved before I even get to that point, so there's that.

To All

If you are older or have older family members or friends, please read this before insisting these older people take the vaccine.  (Don't know if you have heard this other one: if you have food allergies or allergy to some meds, don't get it. This is for all age people.)  Back to the elderly:

"Out of a panel of 14 CDC vaccine advisers, a lone doctor said no."
The doctor is Dr. Helen "Keipp" Talbot, of Vanderbilt University.

(I posted some of this article below.)  Dr. Talbot voted no because there is no study of what happens when older people take it.  Remember, nursing homes will be first to get it along with nursing staff.

"The vote to recommend long-term care residents be among the first to receive Covid-19 vaccinations was not unanimous.  Out of a panel of 14 CDC vaccine advisers, a lone doctor said no."

"Odd woman out, I guess," Dr. Helen "Keipp" Talbot, of Vanderbilt University, told her colleagues. "I still struggle with this. This was not an easy vote."

"Talbot was worried about whether the vaccine would even work in such frail, vulnerable patients. Even more, she worried about how it might look if the vaccine failed in that group, or how it would affect public perception if residents died soon after getting the vaccine."

"I have spent my career studying vaccines in older adults. And we have traditionally tried a vaccine in a young healthy population and then hoped it works in our frail older adults," she told the committee ahead of her vote. "And so we enter this realm of 'we hope it works, and we hope it's safe,' and that concerns me on many levels."

Article also says: "On the other hand, these are the people worst hit by the pandemic. They make up 40% of all deaths so far."

@Cyber Liberty

I have a serious question (not kidding),
Why do you say "It's the NYT..."
I see that here a lot and don't get it.  If a news story presents facts, why does it matter where it comes from?  It seems to me when someone says that, it is a way to dismiss the information - an easy "cop-out", as in, "It's CNN, so they are lying and I don't even need to read it."  Facts are facts no matter where they come from.
